First worked wonderfully, can
II played the first game and experienced almost no glitching or bugs. There was one instant where it just froze, but I exited out, and just restarted the game, worked perfectly after that. So far, this second game was going great, but whenever I go to Captain Dread to charter the ship, right after Guybrush says "Yikes!" the game closes and goes to my home.
I'll come back and rate higher when I'm actually able to go further then Scabb Island.
EDIT: Okies, so I just started a new game, and was able to get as far as collecting all peices of the map and hopping the box to LeChuck's fortress, and then it closed out on me again. I'm hoping that if I just restart my ipad, I'll be able to contiune without having to start all over. I'm giving this one more star, since nothing else has been a problem.
If this keeps happening, my rate will stay at 4 stars, if I can finish the game, I'll come back and give 5 since this is such a fun game!
The voice acting and dialog are perfectly done, and I can't recall the last video game I've literally laughed out loud at this many times.
Besides the story, the game itself is quite enjoyable. The interface is confusing at first, but with practice it becomes perfectly manageable. Most of the fun comes from searching for clues and items and figuring out uses for them. Stumbling upon a new item or hidden area is insanely gratifying.
I've been playing for over an hour and a half, and have yet to run into any bugs or game crashes. Also, the game says I'm only 7% through the game, so it looks like it has a good 15 hours of gameplay, which is insane for five bucks.
I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an exceptionally well made iPad game.
Truly a delight!
I used to love and play Monkey Island and other LucasArts adventure games as a kid. But Monkey Island was by far my favorite, so I was delighted to see it on the iPad. And LucasArts did not disappoint.
The game is simply perfect! I absolutely love the updated graphics and the option to go back to classic mode is just priceless. Dominic Armato's voice work is flawless, and Ron Gilbert along with other developers commentary is a great addition.
Anyone who was a fan of LucasArts adventure games originally will know how great this game really is. Its still just as much fun to play. For me, it took me back in time to my younger days, and this time I am actually enjoying it with my kids.
Anyone who has not played it yet should definitely go for it. You are in for a treat.
