The goal of The World's Smallest Political Quiz is to give a fast, fun, and accurate assessment of a person's overall political views, and to place those views on a new multi-spectrum "political map" that is far more accurate, insightful, and thorough than older political guidelines (such as the "left-right" line).
The Quiz is composed of two parts: a new political map or chart, and ten questions on specific political issues to help you find your place on that new political map.
The new political map includes left liberal, right conservative, centrist, libertarian, and big government statists.
The Quiz is used in classrooms around the world to teach students that politics isn't just left and right as the media would like you to believe.
Catamount Software has brought the World's Smallest Political Quiz quiz takers on Newton OS, Palm OS, and now the iPhone.
Handy little quiz!
It's great to literally be able to offer the quiz to someone you're talking to so the can see where they fall on the properly represented dual axis instead of the standard left/right paradigm.
I would have loved to have more questions asked for a more elaborate test, but it was still cool to see where you stand, even though just by answer the questions you kinda already know ahah.
I am pretty sure this test is very flawed. Making a national ID card will get you closer to being conservative. I fooled with the test, and I know that i could not possibly test every variable, and every time this brought me more towards the conservative side. Conservatives would never take up a national Id card because conservatism believes that states only have the power for that. Now moderate folks like Gingrich might be for an ID card but not a conservative. Also, conservatives do not want laws on homosexuality. This test skewed conservative when answering this question as wanting to legislate vs no legislation. Given that, when I forced the indicator to liberal it skewed down to big government, as it should. Conservatives know that What you do is your own business. I also know that conservatives are for giving people the same rights no matter what the sexuality is. Some have trouble calling it marriage but actually do want to give the same rights to homosexuals that heterosexuals have, in the end it's the same just called something different. But everyone has the same rights and freedoms.
I fear that anyone taking this test will be mislead. I am a staunch constitutional conservative. I do not subscribe to conspiracies, such as 911, birthers, or black helicopters, I do not believe that the current process of leveling taxes at a federal level is sound and I am a believer that only the states have the ability to govern the individual. I am not a libertarian because I do believe that we must have trade policies such as tariffs, we do need some drug laws and things like the draft can be necessary at times of great peril. Yet this poll rates me as a far left wing libertarian. I know a lot of people that call themselves libertarian and leftists... I, generally, have absolutely nothing in common with them.
