People everywhere LOVE this app... here's what they had to say:
5-Stars - "Best reading app ever"
"I have several apps designed for reading books, and MegaReader is by far the best. Not only are there tons of free books available for download, the format is very easy to read and simple to operate.", by Unfortunate_Raccoon, United States, February 13, 2011
5-Stars - "Excellent and Flexible reading app
"This is easily the most flexible reading app I’ve seen. I have vision problems because of my age and reading is hard for me now and Megareader gives me more control than any other reading app I’ve seen.", by barryem, United States, October 2, 2010
Aside from giving you access to a bigger selection of books than ANY other reader on the planet, MegaReader is also super flexible.
For example, if you don't have perfect vision, you can make the fonts larger... all the way up to 42 point – and let's face it, even your grandmom could read it at that size.
Can't do that with a Kindle, can you?
Here's what else is in store:
• Over 2 million books available immediately, for you to read at no charge at all – no hidden costs or complications...
• Flexible: not only can you change the font size, but you can change just about everything else too – fonts, line spacing, colors, everything you can imagine
• Copy and paste text from your favorite webpages, through full integration with InstaPaper... read your favorite stuff anywhere, anytime, with zero effort
• Import your own books and EPUBs from the Calibre app – this lets you use MegaReader to read books from all kinds of sources (please note, MegaReader will not work with DRM protected books)
• Export books to iBooks and Kindle or e-mail them to yourself
And much, much more.
For example, did you know MegaReader was the first reader in the world to have a Head Up Display? Now you can see where you're going AND read at the same time – check out the photo below to see exactly what I mean.
And there are a ton of other benefits that make this the reader of choice for tens of thousands of people all over the world...
… for example have you ever wondered what your reading speed is?
Well, MegaReader can tell you – because it has a built in speed test – and once you do it, it'll be able to tell you exactly how long you'll take to read each book.
So look, let's be honest – you're getting all that AND 2 million books for less than two bucks.
That works out to just 0.0001 cents per book – for some of the greatest written works ever produced by the human race...
… don't you think that's worth less than the price of a coffee?
Of course it is, so hit the buy button now – you'll be glad you did.
What's New in Version 2.12
• Fix issue of not all starting letters being shown in catalog lists.
This is my favorite app for reading ebooks! It's easy to use, easy to sync other ebook catalogues to and works really well. A great feature is that you can chat with customer service reps if you have any questions and they're great about getting back to you quickly! Another excellent plus is that you can share your ebook files with your computer or other ebook readers through iTunes. My favorite feature, though, is that you can change the brightness of your screen just by swiping your finger up or down the screen! So helpful!
There are some areas that could be improved. One big one for me is that outside of the options to order your list of downloaded books by title, author or by order of download, there's no other way of further organizing them. I have a lot of books and trying to find one specific one can be hard and time consuming sometimes. A way to create folders or something like that would be great.
I've also had issues with books downloading with incorrect or missing information, like titles of authors, despite that information present and correct in the catalogue. I'm not sure if that's an issue with megareader or the catalogue itself, though.
Despite these problems, I really like this app. I use it nearly daily and plan on doing so!
I had to change my review because this app is terribly buggy. I downloaded one book and immediate hit the read button. "Error opening book." Ok, so I went to my library and clicked the title. Would not open. Clicked a different tile, which opened fine. Went back to open the first title and it opened the second one instead. Deleted the second one. The first one still opens the second title, but that book is now just blank white pages because I deleted it. What in the actual f---?
Nope. I paid for this app and it is just buggy as heck. Very upset. I had to change my review because it was good so first glance, but once I really started using it, I realized this is just too buggy for them to be charging money for it.
I have to admit I was skeptical, but this app works really well! Tons of books available, and you can add additional sources of books.
I accidentally discovered you can brighten and dim the screen while reading just by swiping your finger up and down on the page. Nice touch!
Ok, needs work.
I like some of the features, like the swipe to dim, but overall the interface is just terrible. The menus are ugly and feel incredibly dated, the bookmarks don't seem to work, and the slider at the bottom is useless because it doesn't tell you pages or chapters, just percent (which you don't see any other time, so there's no way to know where you were or where you are going). Also annoying: the app usually doesn't open to the book you're reading and you have to start from the library to select the book and then select where you left off. Very annoying.
Has potential, but needs lots of work.
