TeacherKit is a personal organizer for teachers. It enables teachers to organize classes, and students. Its simple and intuitive interface enables teachers to track the attendance, grades and behavior of students.
Having a teacher's assistant can be handy, but not every school has the budget for such luxuries.
But why would anyone need a TA when there's TeacherKit (Free, Universal) ??
This app is a teacher's Swiss Army knife, with tools for classroom organization, behavioural monitoring, and grading. The only thing it doesn't do is teach the class for you.

Can’t Depend On App!
I have tried for two years now to utilize the app! Last year, just before my final evaluation, the app froze, then crashed and all data was lost! I was mortified! This year, my frustrations continue to mount. The latest glitch has occurred with the grade book. Each time I attempt to input data, I'll suddenly get a duplicate of another student's name that just pops up in place of another student randomly while not matching up with scores that were input. Additionally, this same sort of problem occurred while adding new students and/or moving them around for the seating assignment.
I completely LOVE the TeacherKit concept, but something’s gotta give here. In times where every minute is maxed out, I don’t have any time, patience or desire left over to redo these pieces again and again!
My fingers are still crossed this app becomes topnotch and can meet my day to day needs without worries over data and information collection that is necessary to turn in upon final evaluation covering multiple concepts on my teacher grading scale.
So please, back up data, be cautious, and keep me posted!
Useful for attendance
I use the app primarily for keeping attendance records. I've only used it a short time, but one thing I can see as an improvement to the app would be to enable a way for teachers to go back and edit past attendance. Two reasons for this: one, I sometimes forget my iPad at home and I am unable to mark the attendance during the school day. Sometimes I remember to mark it in teacher kit once I get home but most the time I don't remember until the next class meeting. As the app is designed right now, I am unable to go back and "redo" attendance for a day I missed. Second reason is that if attendance could be edited, I could create categories for excused and un excused absences and mark those absences accordingly once the student returns to class.
Update: Jan 23. The grade book does not average out the grades when using weights correctly. It's off my 2 to 3 points. That's not a good thing.
I tried this app once before and it just didn't work for me; however, I looked at it again today, gave it a 2nd chance, and I'm glad I did. It's smoother, more responsive, the additional features are a nice touch. The grading system is set up for weights and not points, but since I weigh my assessments this app is perfect for me. The 5.99 price for the additional features is a bit high I think, however, I needed them, so it was worth the money. I also purchased Idoceo, but it felt too cluttered and bulky...this app is clean, simple, but effective.
