What a joke
I’ve completed hundreds of successful jobs through other apps, and thought I’d try this one. My bad for thinking it was worth my time.. The jobs I tried were terribly worded and unorganized. I had a job rejected that came back asking me to correct some items, and everything they asked to have corrected was exactly how it was already in the report! Some others I tried wouldn’t let me upload pictures because the apps location was incorrect. I withdrew from another one where the initial description said I’d be auditing one product group... start the ($5) job and find out it’s actually 3 product groups with dozens of detailed pictures for each all while staying incognito. And worse, the tabs for photos were out of sequence and didn’t say which photo went with which product. Terrible organizational skills... I withdrew after 1/2 hour of frustration and being eyed up by security. I spent the next 15-20 mins at the same place completing 4 jobs for 3 other apps totaling $20. One of those apps approved and paid me before I got home! Save your time and gas money... Gigwalk is a joke!
Pay is dreadful. I took a cheapo $3 job because I was heading to the store in question anyway. I ended up spending more than an hour hunting for a display that didn't exist plus taking photos. The instructions said it was okay to take the pics at an angle, which I had to do because the store aisles were really narrow. I submitted the job, went home, and later got a message telling me to go all the way back to the store to redo the photos because I took them at an angle (which they previously said was allowed) and I had taken "few" of them. Actually, they never requested a specific number, just said to get the candy area, which was around 40 feet long. I submitted 11 photos of that 40-foot section, capturing each small area from top to bottom. Well, I returned to the store against my better judgement to redo the pics. I sent the job in, and what do I get a while later? A request to provide "proof" that an employee told me the display was not in the store. For a lousy $3 job! Shove it, Gigwalk!
It’s a mess
Here’s my example of a Gigwalk gig. Go to the department store or fast food restaurant and take photos of all 6 donut displays. You must take 6 photos of every display and it must be the donut display in one wide shot. WAIT WHAT? So then you’ll get to the store and there will be only one display, the clerk will have no idea what you’re talking about. You’ll take the photo and 25 other photos of random equally confusing things that are half correct, you’ll add comments to clarify what you are showing, and after a half hour of this submit your work. Then a few days later you’ll get a message from Gigwalk saying “we need all 6 donut displays in a single wide shot with clear photos of each display”. So they don’t read your comments at all and then also give you nonsense for instruction. You’ll explain that you completed the gig and expect payment and they simply won’t respond. As I said, it’s a mess.
