Gyroscope Surface Level

A Gyroscope operated Bubble/Digital Level! Runs on the iPhone 4 or iTouch 4, using the internal Gyroscope for precise level measurements.
For iPad 2 users! Check out (for the same price) Gyroscope Level HD Max!
The best part! No manual calibration needed! It always automatically adjusts to gravity (Due to that cool Gyroscope in your device!) Also, because it uses the new iOS 4 sensor fusion code, which uses not only the Gyroscope but other sensors, it needs no sensitivity adjustments like some of the older apps did! At over 200 times per second it aligns to gravity, making it incredibly accurate.
A Level app that does not need a hardware store level (or certified level surface) to level itself!
• Home improvement.
• Camera / Photography leveling.
• RV leveling while camping.
• Quick on the job level work (you always have your phone!).
Has both a bubble view for quick reference, and a digital display (in degrees) for precise level measurements.
What's New in Version 1.1
Bug Fix: Bubble was moving in the wrong direction from gravity for the horizontal animation view.
Wow, surprisingly good!
I really didn't expect to get wowed by some random level app, but this is great.
The accelerometer based levels on the app store ruined everyones take on the iPhone/iPod touch being used as a level. First you would have to get a different level or something that you knew was level, and then calibrate it to that item. You were only as accurate as the thing you calibrated it against. Also, the measurements lagged behind if you moved too fast and sometimes you would have to calibrate it again.
This level app shows how good of a level your iPhone/iPod Touch really can be. It's not going to be something I'll use everyday, but it will find a home on this device.
This isn't groundbreaking technology, but the bad omen the accelerator put on iOS levels is taken away. The only thing that a accelerometer level's calibration was useful to was comparing different items.
Thanks to the dev for seeing a problem and fixing it.
Fantastic - a 3rd axis for angular measure would make 5
I give credit where credit is due. This is a fantastic 2-axis level. Well thought out with a clean I interface.
The only thing needed is the ability to read the angular measure between the horizontal and the device when the device is placed against a wall (ie. when the current vertical axis is at or near 90 degrees) The readout could simply be labeled 'Angle' on the display and could be set to display when the vertical reaches some user set degree (default: 80 degrees)
That would make this app a perfect 5.
Level devices do not come cheap. Fortunately, if you already have an iphone or iPod touch 4, it will only cost $1. I build things and always have my iPod with me. No more need to dig through the garage looking for the level device.
