Frustrating issues

Played and loved the first Puzzle Quest, played and loved Marvel Puzzle Quest until they broke it and the unbalancing became apparent, and am trying to enjoy this one. Yes, there are crashes. Yes, there are bugs, like the computer not switching the gems you're touching. The potential is there and I have had fun, but I am also getting frustrated. I am not a noob, I have logged 400+ hours in puzzle quest games. I have never had such "luck" as on this game. The computer consistently gets better gem drops and combo opportunities, to say nothing of the unbalanced levels. It seems the developers recognize this, as the computer will often not use its abilities to defeat me, when it could easily do so. This fake difficulty programming is indicative of poor original design.

Yet another example of how to ruin a great franchise

I was just like the other countless reviewers who loved the original puzzle quest and their really interesting and addictive take on the bejeweled gameplay mechanic.

Was hoping for PQ1 on iPhone, and was surprised that I couldn't find it.

Instead I dumped 2.99 on this hot mess. The worst thing is that it's PQ on my phone, so at its core it's still the game I love.

But dang, they make it hard to like it. Freezing all the time, screws up every time I reboot (I need to turn off notifications then turn it back on to start... This was not caught in bug testing? Or just ignored as IOS continues to advance?), buggy controls, etc.

And of course micro transactions.

And lastly, it appears that when PV2 came out, they took down PV1. Remember folks, in the new Apple world we live in you don't buy apps, you rent them until the developer wants you to pay more for a worse product. I wonder when PV3 comes out, adds more bugs, and then they nuke PV2 and run away with my $2.99? Sad.

How can one give more than 5 stars? It barely works and the developers are so obviously trying to cash in and check out. It pains me to see a great franchise driven into the ground.

Okay. Wish PQ1 was on here though...

I actually played PQ2 before PQ1 and enjoyed it alright. I lost interest quickly though and attributed this to the fact that it is a puzzle game. The mechanics were interesting though and I couldn't figure out what was wrong with PQ2. Ironically, when I happened upon PQ1, I found out what was missing. I'm not quite sure why the second installment in the puzzle quest series is so lacking in elements that make the first great, but I am sincerely confused by that and their refusal to release the first on the App Store. I would pay twice as much for the first game on my phone... Mounts, a coherent story, a map, FUN strategies, and many more things are hallmarks of PQ1 that are left to be desired in this title...
