Highlighter is a powerful PDF reader with advanced annotation tools and an intuitive, polished interface.
You can highlight important passages, add text notes, freehand sketches, and even voice memos. All your annotations are saved directly to the PDF file, so that you can review them later on a Mac or PC, using standard software like Acrobat Reader or Mac OS X Preview.
While working with a document, you can view all your annotations in the innovative clippings view that shows highlighted passages in the context of the original page layout.
For convenient navigation in large documents, Highlighter has great support for standard PDF features like links and outlines. The integrated browser provides quick access to linked web pages and the Wikipedia for looking up selected words.

Best PDF reader and annotator
I've been using this app for a whole semester now and I think it's fair I give it the review it deserves. I use it A LOT to read and annotate dozens of articles for my classes and research job, and honestly I don't think I should ever use any app other than this one to do so. Works great, smoothly, and -at least in my case- without any glitches whatsoever. Plus, the Dropbox synchronization works perfectly and seamlessly: just sync the app, download your pdf's from Dropbox, annotate them, and everything will upload and update automatically, and also ready for viewing in your computer (at least with the Preview app in Mac OS X).
As I said, I can't see why you would need an extra app for either reading or annotating pdf's. This is definitely a winner. Kudos to these guys. Brilliant.
Glitch, Glitch, and more Glitches
The concept of this program is the best out there, but it doesn't run properly. Your notes will spontaneously duplicate, disappear, and move on their own. You likely won't even notice unless you had a certain point that you are going back for in the PDF and its not there. This happens regardless of whether its a highlight, note, or voice clip. I lost very important notes never to be found again. Can't play around with a program that deletes important notations. Until this serious glitch is fixed, this app is absolutely worthless to me. What a shame...
Best UI for PDF Readers
I have tried using all the other apps, GoodReader, PDF Expert, PDF Reader Pro, iAnnotation, and after spending $40+ I was still disappointed with the UI of all these apps.
And then I decided to give this app a try and what a pleasant surprise. The UI is intuitive and clean. It might lack all the customization of the other PDF Readers but in my opinion the simplicity of the app is what makes it a winner.
I wish I could have found this earlier.
