The SNCB app offers a complete view of all public transportation information in Belgium. The multimodal travel planner calculates the fastest door-to-door journey, optionally with GPS. Bus, metro and train departure schedules are readily available and train information is always given in realtime. Departure and arrival schedules also can be consulted for a station of your choice. Another option is to search on train number. Furthermore, network disturbances are available in realtime, reminders can be set for each stop of your choice, and you have the possibility to receive alerts when your train is delayed.
The app also offers the possibility to buy a ticket, to save travel schedules in your calendar and/or to share them with others via e-mail, sms or Twitter.
When downloading you will be asked to give your permission to activate certain services the app features:
o GPS position: through geolocalisation you can find the nearest station
o Calendar: you can save a travel itinerary in your calendar
• you can purchase a Mobile ticket for one of your phonebook contacts
• you can share your journey with others via sms, e-mail, Twitter
o Push messages: be automatically informed when your train is delayed
Payment for a Mobile Ticket can be made by credit card (VISA, Master Card, American Express) via the protected servers of Ingenico Payment Services. If you wish, you can save the card details after a first purchase in order to complete future purchases more quickly. In this case you will only need to enter your security code (CVC) to finalize the next purchases.

Do not use this app or trust train employees
This app will allow you to purchase "discount" tickets for weekend rates, only to have the ticket-checkers on the train "catch" the mistakes of the websites. This will cause you to be charged 300% for your tickets within Belgium. We went to Antwerp for the day, which should have been 30 euros with the "shopping ticket" for the holidays that we were unaware of. We bought the weekend ticket for 10€ more instead. We were told that was the wrong ticket by an angry employee and was forced to pay 40€ more in cash. Then we were told by customer service that we should file a claim and it would take months to determine if we were worthy of a refund. Buy them in person and demand to speak to someone who speaks your language and understands the promotions available.
Great. Interface is a bit awkward but it works
This app does what it promises. It's less elegant than ICE, EuroStar or NationalRail it gets the job done. When I doesn't. My purchase have been refunded within 1 week.
I wish tickets could be Added to Passbook wallet since opening the app and finding tickets at station barriers takes too long.
Lifesaver in belgium
A bit slow and clunky at times but it can't be beat when there is a huge line at the train station. Also excellent with up to date status info.
