Description

Transmit 4 is the ultimate FTP + SFTP + WebDAV + Amazon S3 file transfer client on the Mac.

You need to transfer files. Maybe to an FTP or SFTP server, or the cloud via Amazon S3, or using WebDAV. You maintain a website, do backups, or upload photos. You need Transmit, the #1 Mac OS X FTP client.

INCREDIBLE FEATURES.

- Protocol power: FTP (Normal, Implicit SSL, and TLS/SSL), SFTP, Amazon S3, and WebDAV (HTTP and HTTPS)
- Flexible Favorites for fast server access
- Handy two-pane view
- Fast multiple-connection transfers
- Easy transfer manager
- Synchronization
- Quick Look, CoverFlow, Image Thumbnail view
- Places for one-click folder access
- FXP Support
- Bandwidth Limiting
- So much more!

AMAZING SPEED.

Scary, wicked fast compared to Transmit 3 — up to 25 times.

4x faster: listing 30,000 remote files.
18x faster: downloading 30,000 small files.
2.25x faster: deleting 30,000 small files.
25x faster: uploading 15,000 small files.

AND ONE MORE THING: TRANSMIT DISK.

With the brand-new Transmit Disk feature, you can now mount any of your favorites in the Finder itself — even if Transmit's not running. These volumes are real: drag files to your SFTP server, save a small graphic to your Amazon S3 bucket directly from Photoshop, or roll your own iDisk-like backup volume. It's all possible in T4.

THIS IS THE BEST FILE TRANSFER CLIENT YOU'LL EVER BUY. Really!

What's New in Version 4.4.8

• Added toggle fullscreen menu item

Customer Reviews

Good, but room for improvement

I use this app to connect to my Drobo 5N while I am at work. So far I’ve really enjoyed using this app but I’ve run into a problem here or there. Most notably, I frequently have to force quit Finder after right clicking on a server item in finder. For whatever reason this often causes my laptop to freeze despite the fact that it is a brand new Macbook Pro.

I am also disappointed that there is no way to set my SFTP server as a Time Machine Backup location, but I suppose thats more of a feature request than an actual issue, so I won’t subtract any stars for that. I would also like it if there was a way to have drives mount automatically upon login, again though, that’s just a feature request.

Pretty, but not amazing

Client looks great, and no doubt I’ll make good use of features like iCloud bookmark syncing and the Transmit Drive.

However, the very first transfer I attempted (via FTP) was to download a folder with a number of files inside it: despite having the number of files to transfer set at 5, this kicked off just 1 download (the first file in the folder) and queued the rest of the files to wait — not automatically downloading in parallel. I had to manually drag each file in the folder in order for them to start downloading in parallel. So not really the most streamlined experience compared to pretty much every other client I’ve ever used, and rather a shock given the price tag...

So Far I’m Impressed

I have been a long time interarchie user. but recently interarchie and other ftp programs I have tried have been buggy with secure transfers. This program seems to do a great job not losing the connection and resuming file transfers when needed. I am often uploading big files 16 gigs or bigger.
