For Documents. Tag, organize, see, find.
Photos have iPhoto. Music has iTunes. But when it comes to PDFs and other office documents, you're on your own. That is, until now. Now there is Yep and there's no looking back.
Start Yep for the first time and it automatically shows you all your PDFs, iWork and Office documents. The strength in Yep is being able to see your documents and search through them with out needing to worry where exactly you saved it to. Add your own tags to documents - which is like storing them in two places at once. Yep also has the ability to automatically file documents into a simple date based folder system located in your Documents folder. The result is that its easy to keep a running track record of receipts, invoices, research papers - without having to think about where to store it.
Has a built in scanning interface optimized for documents.
What's New in Version 3.5.3
Fixed bugs for OS X 10.9 Mavericks.
Works Well. The app to buy in this category.
I use this app daily to manage many documents. It is laid out clearly and is easy to implement a system to keep track of my personal professional documents. I depended on it daily. It’s worth the money to but and the time investment to set it up.
The key to using the software for me has been how I tag and view documents by creating bookmarks. It would make more sense thematically if the programmers used smart folders which hold collections instead of collections of bookmarked documents. In any case, creating a complete set of folders aka bookmarks to easily find documents and how you tag documents works well. As a simple example, all new bills are tagged bill, 2014, pending, and maybe electric or medical. I have a collection to show all unpaid bills which uses the bill and pending tags. Then when I pay a bill, I tag the document with the word paid and removing the pending tag. If I look at my Paid bookmark collection, I will see all paid bills from recent to past.
Did I meantion that they really need to replace the bookmarks with smart folders because documents to into folders?
Very useful app for organizing documents
I use it regularly and have used it for quite a while. I would like to see a hierarchical file tree on the left had side that would allow me to navigate the file structure and then drap/drop files to move them to folders. Also, would like to have assignable shortcut keys to my most common tags.
