Initially released in Japan in 1993, Secret of Mana took the world by storm with its innovative real-time battle system and gorgeously rendered world. It continues to stand out among other action RPGs for its seamless gameplay that anyone from beginner to veteran can enjoy.
One of the most memorable elements of the Mana series is the Ring Command menu system. With the single press of a button, a ring-shaped menu appears on the screen, where players can use items, change weapons, and do a variety of other actions without needing to switch screens. This Ring Command menu system for which the Mana series is so well known was first introduced in Secret of Mana and has since appeared in most games in the series.
Play as Randi and his two companions, Primm and Popoi, as they adventure all around the world. At the center of our epic story is the mystical power of Mana. Battle the empire in its quest for control of Mana. Befriend the eight elementals who wield the forces of nature itself. Numerous encounters await at every turn.

What's New in Version 2.0.1
The following bug fix has been implemented for iPhone 5 and other iOS 6 devices.
Launching the game while the device is aligned horizontally with the Home button to the left no longer causes the game screen to be displayed upside-down.
This one of my favorite games of all time so I had no problem paying the $9 to support the makers and have it on my iPhone. The game's visuals seem to have improved a little bit from the original, I think some of the scenery images and such have been remade for this, or just enhanced. I love how they added character artwork too.
But after playing for a little bit I've noticed two issues right away. One is that when the music cycles it lags slightly for that moment, nothing huge but noticeable. The other thing is the directional control, you have to slide your finger before the character will start moving which eliminates the ability to slowly approach an enemy by tapping in the direction.
Otherwise the game looks great and I love Square Enix for allowing me to have it on my phone. Too bad there's no Bluetooth or wifi co-op play. lol
The game we loved but better
The controls take 10 minutes to get used to but besides that its a great port. After a full runthrough i can say there werent any bugs i came across and everything works well.
Oh... after all of these years i find out that secret of mana has multiplayer functionality on the snes. Not that i reay knew anyone when i was four. Anyway.. I can understand not wanting to make online multiplayer (as awesome as that would be), but i think local multiplayer would be reasonable. Not only that but the use of multiplayer functionality would add immense value to this already great app, besides that people who already bought this would bug thier friends to buy too.
My only complaint, and probably a minor one for most of my fellow rpg'ers... There is no multiplayer.
Greatest Gaming Experience Ever Created
Secret of Mana has stood the test of time and continues to be in my opinion the greatest video game ever created. I'm thrilled it was released for iOS.
The graphics, story, battle system, and especially the soundtrack all complement each other and create an experience you wont come close to with any other game.
I've been playing video games since they existed while mainly focusing on RPGs. I've played almost all of them. Please listen when I say you need this game. It's worth so much more than it's price. You need this experience. Buy it!
20 years after first playing this game, I still think about it often, and the memories I built with this game still make me happy.
