How we're making Sid Meier's Civilization IV: Colonization even better
- Fix a crash unique to the Intel HD3000 GPU
After a year+ of playing this, still fun and still play it regularly
Colonization is my "go-to" for down time with a computer and the game play never really gets boring or repetitive since it’s so different each time you start a new game/employ different strategies each time. This game is incredibly (but thankfully not obssessively) addictive. I had the original version of this game back in the day (Civ 1 platform) used to play it all the time… the Civ 4 remake is just as good if not better in terms of fun factor and longevity of interest. Definitely worth the download!
Pass on this Game… Boring & Antiquated.
I was looking for a game similar to PC Based Anno 1701. What I got was a turn-based game that was as slow and uninteresting as any game I've ever played. Having been a big fan of the ANNO series, I was expecting this to be at least similar. It wasn't even close. I wanted my little guys to automate and produce so that I could focus on Strategy. What I got was mundane feed-the-cows kinda game-play. I tutorials were hopeless and the onscreen action was really quite lame. I'd love to find something that had elements of Strategy, Action, and Empire Building for the Mac. So far, nothing I've played rivals the other platform unfortunately.
With beautiful graphics and amazing gameplay, this game is great. To be honest, I believe that it is more worth buying this game than Civilization V (I have both), for the game interface of Civilization V is not as good as this one. However, this game would be better if it were longer. I know it's just the colonization period, but to me it was a little short. Despite this, Civilization colonization is a dazzling game and is worth every cent of it.
