Tactical Soldier - Undead Rising
By Full Control ApS
This app is only available on the App Store for iOS devices.
Tactical Soldier is a tactical squad level turn based game where you control a group of soldiers trying to uncover the dark secrets of an army research base invaded by zombies.
From the makers of Monster Ball, Smack Boxing, Smack Hockey, TouchWars and ElectroCute, we go back to the roots and re-invent turn based gaming in a modern, mobile world.

What's New in Version 2.0.2
Fixed critical bug in campaign 1 chapter 4 with story script not properly processing entering room.
I haven't beat it yet but I'm pretty deep into it and I would say I've sent at least 5 hours, thinking it's about a 10 hour game overall. It's reminiscent of X-Com and some other old-school turn based strategies, I want more of everything, mainly a more immersive campaign with than one location. This takes place all at an army base and while by no means small it would be cool to have something like x-com where i could say build a force, research weapons/survival techniques and play across a country or perhaps globally and win back the world from the zombies for good. You'll notice I give it 4 out of 5 stars, I will update this once I have finished and a decimate 5 stars if expansions or updates are added.
Tac Sol - fun game!
I enjoyed this one. It is simple but not easy, a reasonably tough but forgiving (in terms of rebooting save points) TBS. I would consider this a VERY good "beer and pretzels" kind of game. They are building in more monster types in the sequels, and the fact is that - like in "real" zombie epics - mass has a quality all it's own. Always heal, use your grenades carefully, and try to max out on action points so your heavy gunner (s) can fire twice a round. Also recognize that the M-16, for some reason, runs out of ammo very quickly, forcing you to keep an eye out for drops of other weapons. And watch out for "own goals" - weapons can damage your own crew...
Update: broken in iPhone 6. Doesn't recognize touch past start screen. Please update this fun game.
I almost gave this a poor review because the tutorial leaves a lot to be desired which makes for some frustration. I also normally would have waited for a $0.99 sale but went for it based on the theme, reviews & the developer holding the cost to value not trends.
Overall I'm glad I stuck with it and I don't have buyers remorse. This is a GREAT game. Really enjoyable. Can't wait to buy C2 when it hits the store.
