Awesome game, but missing one hugely important thing!
This game has everything it needs to be an amazing game, but it suffers from a lack of information. Although they give quite a bit of information about the gems and such, I find it annoying that I know absolutely nothing about the creeps. And I find it terribly frustrating when I am playing endurance mode and I am doing just fine, but then one wave of creeps come and my towers do absolutely no damage at all and I have no idea why. How can i adequately set up my defenses if I have no idea why I can do no damage to certain waves of creeps!?!? This has almost caused me to quit playing this game altogether! Please publish a guide to the different types of creeps so we can plan our defense or fix this problem with the endurance mode (usually comes around wave 23 or so).
My favorite tower defense series
I love all the gemcraft games that have come out online as flash games. They're brilliant and well-balanced and horribly addictive, and best of all, they continue to be fun and increasingly challenging even after you've beat all the levels, thanks to the modes of play and the leveling system. This iPad version is no exception. I really hope to see more incarnations of gemcraft for the iPad some day, or at least an update with more levels! Definitely a must-have game if you like strategy and TD style games.
Lots of potential--1 massive flaw.
Avid td player here, and my thoughts are Exactly what Sac1984 said. This game seriously suffers in endurance mode from a lack of creep information. I can defend wave after wave without a single one getting by and along comes one inexplicable wave where I don't kill even ONE. this is a good game overall but I won't be playing any more due to this random ramp up every time. Far too frustrating.
Knowing the type of mob coming next was a key component of setting up defense in Gemcraft online; it seriously lacks here. There is no gradual scaling up in difficulty--20+ waves with zero leaks and then one wave with not a single mob killed. It's absurd and makes it honestly not fun to play any further.
