Hipster City Awesome

Hipster City Cycle is one of the best games out for the iPhone. It represents Philadelphia through a fun and challenging game on a platform that doesn't often see levels of depth presented in such a way. The gameplay, while difficult to master, is satisfying and in some ways can match the exhilaration and intensity you sometimes feel when riding around Philly. Most of all though it pokes and prods at hipster culture in such a light-hearted and goofy way that the usual cynicism associated with the culture melts away into endlessly replayable mobile gaming goodness. You don't have to live in Philly to appreciate the humor, but it helps!

Absolutely one of the best iPhone games in existence!

I just bought this game tonight and I'm already in love with it. This could have been an official NES title back in the day — it's that good and the graphics feel authentic to that glorious 8-bit time period. So fun! I'm playing on my iPad 2 because it's not compatible with my older than dirt iPhone 1st gen (I know, I know). Needs an official iPad version because it's awesome on the larger screen! Looking forward to more from this developer, both in this game and otherwise.

Fun to a point

Really have to respect the care that went into this game. The art is beautiful and lovingly renders Philadelphia with incredible attention to detail. The gameplay, while fun in the beginning, eventually plateaus - you can only get so skilled skilled at riding, because you can only see so far ahead of you and you can only turn slightly. This is part of the larger problem of feeling like the game is not always fair. And if your going to make a challenging game, you must instill a sense that each death is the players lack of skill. I dig this game, still playing, but its a shame it's not as good as it totally could be.
