Description

This small, simple four-button timer application is easy for anyone to use! The time counts down in minutes and seconds; when it expires, a ring sounds, the display flashes, and the elapsed expired time is also shown on the display. The timer also counts up from zero, if the time is started at zero. A large, easy-to-read time display is shown in the dock, for quick reference. Full screen and mini modes offer additional helpful ways to view the timer. The full screen mode is fully supported on multiple monitors. The timer can be controlled from the keyboard: press the spacebar to start or stop the timer, the m key to increase the minutes, s key to increase the seconds, and clear (⌧) key to reset the timer.

What's New in Version 1.9.3

Fixes for Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, and 10.8. You can press the "clear" key (⌧) to reset the timer.
If you enjoy using Timer by Ten, would you mind taking a moment to rate it? It won’t take more than a minute. Thanks for your support!

Customer Reviews

Great! Has the features I wanted. Can adjust/mute alarm.

Update - 3 weeks later: Still great. I've been using it several times a day at work to enforce standing/sitting at desk. Still recommended. Read other reviews for minor idiosyncrasies, but none are big issues for me.

Original Review: You can reduce or mute the audio alarm of the app. Muting was a requirement of mine.
(the author responded promptly by email when I asked if this was a feature).

When running, it displays the time remaining in its icon on the launch bar (minutes only, then count down at (0:59)
The icon changes from black to white at :00 and bounces up and down for 60 sec.
It remains, displaying seconds elapsed since :00 as a tiny superscript above the :00 for some period of time.
The app itself can be shrunk, but not minimized entirely, by clicking the green Maximize button or Window|Zoom. Counter intuitive, but not a showstopper.
Restore to its original size the same way.
Does full-screen as you'd expect (top-right click)
Simple interface.
I'm still running Mavericks, but that probably makes no difference.
