Below average. Big drain on battery.
The game is below average as it tends too become too difficult much too early. It is nearly impossible to gain enough resources to get past the sixth or seventh level. Additionally the controls are difficult at times and you end up firing off rockets when trying to rotate the turret.
Fix the accidental fire issue and make it easier to gain resources so players can get past the first four levels and this game is easily a 3 or 4. Fix the battery drain issue and it would be a 5 as the game idea is excellent and would be addicting without these issues.
I have changed my rating to a two star as the game is much too difficult and drains way too much battery. Just turning the game on drained my battery by 15%. Playing for two minutes drained another 10%. I am glad I got this game from Free App A Day or I would be upset that I had to pay for an app that has this many negatives.
I did not like the flash game. I did not like sparse graphics (See Vector Tanks Extreme for how to improve vector graphics). However, playing this app is highly addicting. A lot more accessible than the flash version. This game is quite challenging. The ability to continue from your last stage is very welcomed feature, you will die a lot :-)
The difficulty is quite intense; it needs an easier mode for new players. It's quite difficult to build up enough resources to level up since your constantly having to spend points on fixing your health. Needs an ability to regenerate health. With these improvements it would be worthy of 5 stars.
