Urgent Care by GreatCall – Nurses and Doctors on demand 24/7. FREE App!

A #1 medical app in iTunes and Google Play in 2013 and 2014

Urgent Care lets you speak to a US based registered nurse who will triage your medical questions and if needed have a licensed physician call you back within 30 minutes.

The doctor may give assessments, medical advice or diagnose a wide range of conditions over the phone as well as prescribe common medications. Plus, Urgent Care features the award winning A.D.A.M. medical dictionary and medical encyclopedia as well as an interactive symptom checker for additional health information.

How can this be only $3.99 a call when other apps charge $40 or more?
Other apps connect you instantly to a doctor for upwards of $40 a call, no matter if it’s medically necessary or not. Urgent Care however connects you first to a Registered Nurse who based on the symptoms can escalate your call to a Doctor or Pediatrician if needed for no extra charge – saving unnecessary calls and allowing us to pass the savings on to you.

What you get:
• Access to a live, registered nurse who can escalate to a board-certified doctor around the clock
• Doctor has ability to give assessments, advise or diagnose a wide range of conditions over the phone
• Pediatricians available if needed
• Doctors have ability to prescribe common medications
• Spanish translators available
• Interactive symptom checker
• Medical Dictionary and Medical Encyclopedia

Just awesome

And no I'm not being sarcastic, they don't put you on hold (if they're busy they'll call you as soon as a nurse or doctor is available) and there isn't a sales pitch for any special service or premium. I've called with everything from broken bones, to blood in my (insert gross place for there to be blood here), and they always walk me through treatment options for home and whether or not extra care is needed. This app is the biggest no brainer around period. One thing I will say is that I recommend you search via key word rather than pointing to the part of the body that hurts, it's easier to get to what you need to know this way when searching for symptoms. All in all great app, I would pay for this in a heartbeat.

Not much help, waste of money

I've used this app on two separate occasions, one for an intervention that required antibiotics and another to get a prescription for a confirmed diagnosis from my doctor, and had the same poor experience both times. When I called the nurse essentially just looked up my symptoms in WebMD and then proceeded to tell me what an "infection" is. She then told me to go to an urgent care clinic just to double check. This is not a solution! It wasn't an emergency, it was a standard rash which was already diagnosed earlier and I just needed to talk to a doctor! I requested both times to be escalated to a doctor but was denied both times. So great, I paid $8 to be told to go to the ER or Urgent Care clinic so I can pay another $200 for nothing. Waste of money and time for this app, all they do is tell you some generic information about what you may have and then tell you to go to a real doctor. Avoid this app, very disappointing 😒

Great App

I called and spoke with a very nice nurse who gave me great advice. I had a cough that just started and she provided me with advice on how to help decrease it and when I should see a doctor. Lots of good advice that I didn't think to try. The nurse offered to have me speak to a doctor but I wasn't to that point yet. I wanted to try home care advice first. It does cost extra to speak with a doctor and the nurse can't prescribe any meds so if you are looking for a prescription, slip the nurse and speak with a doctor. Love love love this app!
