With a Style like no other, Ninjammin Beat-jitsu defines its own genre in this fusion of Rhythm Action and Arcade Platforming.

Great comcept spoiled by lackluster controls.
The game has much potential, the art style is very appealing as well as the music. But the game controls like an absolute mess. It sell itself as a precision platformer when the detection of the controls is very sloppy, most of the time when you press the button that is needed right on top of the prompt, it is not detected. This is very apparent on the ipad, as the buttons, which are nice and large, are too close together, resulting in many cheap deaths, and i have no stigma towards hard games at all, i have 100% completion in Super Meat Boy. This is true for both schemes, but the d-pad works slightly better than the awkward default controls. The mechanic for wall jumping also feels very awkward, as it is different than the jump on wall, move to opposite wall then jump that has been the got-to for the past decade. Instead, you must jump once, then move towrds the opposite wall right as you land with no jump in there, which feels contrived and broken. As the saying goes, if it ain't broke, then don't fix it. I would not purchase this game until the developers fix the control issues that overshadow a quite enjoyable experience.
This is NOT A PLATFORMER!!! It's a game where you need to be holding the correct button when the character passes it in order to get points for it, and move on. The circled arrows are MANDITORY... it's more of a memorization game, with a little bit of luck and skill thrown in. If you know what buttons are coming, it's a pretty easy game. You do not need to be pressing the buttons the millisecond the character passes them, just have your finger on them when he passes them... ie; see a blue arrow coming up? push the blue arrow, and it'll activate the move when the character runs into that arrow... the description is totally right on, it's a platformer you control like guitar hero.
The flash game can be found on the devs website, check it out before you buy!! =oD
This game rocks!
So happy I got this game! Level design is amazing, I love how there are so many different routes.. This makes the replay value extremely high bc you always want to A. Try to beat your old score and B. Find secrets and alternate routes throughout the course. For the reviews saying the "split second window" to push the buttons, that's the purpose.. Keep on practicing and switch the button layout to set 2. But it would be a good option to make an easy difficulty, maybe by slowing down the running so the player has a lil longer to react to the arrows? But I love playing on my iPad, it looks amazing and it is really fun!
