Planetary is an all-new, stunningly beautiful way to explore your music collection, available only on iPad. Fly through a 3D universe dynamically created by information about the recording artists you love. Visit planets that represent your favorite albums and control the playback of your music on iPad by browsing and selecting astronomical objects.
Planetary is just the sort of science fiction experience you expect when using an object from the future like iPad. You'll want to show your friends this beautiful app. We've made it even easier to share Planetary at home; it looks incredible when you hook your iPad 2 up to a big HDTV or projector using the HDMI accessory.
Planetary is the first of a new type of visual discovery app produced by Bloom Studio. In the coming months, we'll be releasing an ongoing stream of apps that let you explore and participate in social networks, video streaming services, and location-based applications in a whole new way! We're building new ways to see and communicate.

Awesome Concept, But...
Awesome concept, amazingly unique, beautiful graphics, and then ruined by the lack of a way to stop playing. A Music Player without a stop/pause is like a car without brakes. Because of this, you will have to switch to another music player (such as the default player) to stop the music. I hope this is only a temporary bug that will be fixed soon! Even with this issue, the app is a must have for anybody that listens to music, and loves space/sci-fi.
EDIT: After many days and hours of play time, I have the issue causing not being able to stop/pause playback figured out. If you double-tap a planet to start playing that planet's song the playback controls at the bottom don't work correctly. If you single-tap the song planet then use the playback controls to press play, then these controls work correctly. Because of this method allowing me to stop playback, I'm upgrading from 3 stars to 4 stars. Please fix this issue/bug (as double-tap is the most natural song starting method for me) in the next update and you'll definitely be getting 5 stars from me!
A rare gem,,,, get to know this app!
I stumbled upon this only recently, I am using it on the "new" 64g iPad. Initially I ran into a few bugs, but, I could see this was something I wanted. I deleted and reinstalled it once or twice, running into problems of the "stop" "play" button freezing up, (which I could still control from my built in music app) and only once, I experienced no planetary animations. (this unfortunately happened the one time I tried to show someone this app, go figure.) However, after learning the interface, and giving the iPad time to do each function without impatient touches, I have absolutely fell in love with this app. There are no pop up ads, no trying to sell me the full version, it is honestly the best music visualiser I have ever seen, plus you can't beat the price, it is free! I am planning on using this app, connected to my blutooth stereo and large screen tv to host some guest! Thank you Bloom Studio.
Beautiful but track progression animation not smooth
This is a gorgeous app, but I don't understand why the animation of the moon representing tracks jumps from second to second instead of animating smoothly. When everything else is spinning smoothly it is really really jarring to see the playing track celestial body jerking like that. Also, there is an issue with the paradigm when multi-artist albums are present. There appears to me to be no way to view an entire album together when there are multiple artists on it. I understand this is because of the paradigm used to construct the app with artists as stars, but if the app had some way to handle this scenario, that would be really great. Overall though, Planetary is beautiful and clever and I love watching it. I imported my music collection to my iPad from my iPod just so I could use this app to view it.
