Useful App - Optimize your source material
The app does exactly what it says. Will convert your bitmaps into decent vector art. The black & white mode does a superb job at this. The greyscale and color modes are finicky however. Uneven color intensity results in either missing features in the lighter parts of an image or exagerated features in the darker parts. Careful color normalization, splitting the bitmap into component pieces and reassembling inthe resulting vectors or converting in black & white mode and manually coloring the vectors are good workarounds but require a little more effort. Worth the price but be prepared to spend some time with more complex, color conversions.
Would not buy again!
I have used a lot of vector converters and this is the worst. I have used Inkscape, Illustrator and Vector Magic all of them do a better job. Yes most of these costs a lot more then this software does but they work. Inkscape is free and it does a better job.
The color option is useless. I could not get one image with color to come out correct or even useable. Waste of money for color version.
The black and white image conversion is hit or miss. I have tried lots of images. Some straight of the web and others I have created from scratch. The best results I got was when using the software came from *.JPG images. That I had vectored before saving them into *.JPG file. They were black and white with a white background. If you have a *.PNG file with a transparent background forget it. They come out as a solid black shape/block.
Since I already bought this software. The only hope I have is it will get better with time and updates.
I'm a novice to Vector Graphics but I like the results I'm getting with this app. I would like to see an export function to other formats (png, jpg, gif etc) ... the resulting svg file limits me to a small number of apps which use the svg format.
I bought this app hoping to get unique images that I could use with other apps that do not use the svg file format ... the app warrants the FIVE STAR rating but I wish resulting images would be exportable.
