The computer version is better.....
My teacher showed us this because we had to do this book project for class and all that jazz. The computer version is SO much better. The computer version would still only get three stars from me, but that’s for another topic.
Everyone using this app, kind of absolutely hates it. It’s the truth. When you use PDF to download, it crashes, then you have to do everything over again.
Another crappy thing( on both Computer and phone), is the lack of stuff to read. I’m in high school right now, and I had a science project about mental disorders and all that. I searched up bipolar disorder, and the little pop up finishing my word was there. I clicked it, and the books were not there. Same thing happens with BLPD(Border Line Personality Disorder).
I finally gave up and went to depression. There were books, but only about three. The rest were about Autism. Not even what I wanted.
I recommend that if your just using this for school or just to read, use your computer. Nothing really works on the phone, so you should go to the library and use this app as a last resort.
Side note!!: I think they know this app is bad. They never send an editors response like other apps do. Even if they are bad, they should try to improve the app.
Needs a serious competitor to put them out of business
This is what we get from EBSCOhost for all the money that they get paid for managing a database? All we need is one company to offer it for a fraction less but with more robust search capabilities and they’ll be out of business in a week.
For the amount of money we pay for tuition and in turn that goes to Ebsco publishing through library budgets, there should have been more development for searching in general but also things like this app a long, long time ago.
We are gouged as students for tuition and then not given appropriate updates for a world class database system? This is why we need a better publishing and distribution system for the academic world.
I can't save a PDF into another program on the iPad because the screen popups go off the edge of the screen. The whole thing looks horrific on an iPad in general. There are also not many substantial searching options. Similar to the infinitely inferior search engine on EBSCOhost, this does not work.
ZERO FUNCTIONALITY - SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM APP STORE
This app fails in all aspects. The initial help link cannot even be used. Any attempted action results in a “network failure” error message. Have tried troubleshooting- deleting & re-downloading app, using on different device, even restarting the email process- nothing works.
If possible, I would have given this app a negative star rating. APPLE SHOULD NOT ALLOW NONFUNCTIONING APPS TO EXIST IN THEIR APP STORE!
