Absolutely fantastic

I have almost 200 playlists in my Music app. In the old car, it could play the music folder by folder as I had it organized; it could not read playlists. The new car has the capability of playing playlists.

This app allowed me to create a USB drive with all the music in the root directory and created one file for each playlist I have in the Music app. The root directory of the flash drive is crowded with all the music and playlist files, but it does not matter. All the music is there and the playlist takes control of which file plays next.

One word of caution. If you have old music that was purchased when it was protected (m4p), it will not play in the car. I had to convert 50 songs to mp3 and replace those m4p files in the USB drive. Also, edited the playlists that contained them to the correct file name, so that the songs could be found. Luckily, there were not many songs with this issue and it was manageable.

Great Find

I put playlists on a USB drive for my car, and have wanted the ability to export from ITUNES in album order, so I can have the music arranged and played by album order instead of songs interspersed - this app does it well. Now I create my playlist in ITUNES and export using the artists/album sort option, USB ends up with songs in folders by artists & album - GREAT!

iTunes Essential

I've been using this app for years, and really appreciate its usefulness.

Playlist Export is reliable, and easy to use. If you need to export your playlists to a USB device so you can play them in your car stereo or another device (I'm trying to get music on my Roku TV right now) this app lets you do that.
