Not Bad but I Do Have a Handful of Complaints
I play on IPad 2 and have played over 200 games with nothing close to a crash so not sure why all the complaints about that. It is pretty much what you expect from a Monopoly game so not much to say there.
Now my complaints:
1) I paid for this game so I find it irritating that I sometimes I get ads that I have to click on to dismiss.
2) The ai makes some really stupid trades
3) I really want a menu option to turn off tutorials, the way it works now is you get asked every single time you start a game. The default is "yes" so if you touch anywhere on the screen besides the no button you are stuck with tutorials. Making you quit the game and restart to turn tutorials off
4) The app should also save your settings. Every time you turn the app on, the settings are set to the default. It's not hard to set-up, just annoying
5). They have a cheat mode named "sleight of hand" that you have the option to play with. In this mode you can get one property upgrade for free, pay half price when landing on an opponent's space or use a trick dice roll to land in a specific space. You can only do one of each of these cheats in each game. The complaint that I have is that when I use this mode, about half the time the trick dice ends up in the wrong space, this is mostly due to the fact that the property squares are too small or my fingers are too fat, either way it is extremely annoying
Fun except for annoying pop ups
First off, I have not experienced any crashes since using the latest iPad.
I only play against AI at all difficulty levels. The dice are definitely loaded. This game doesn't use any logic while in play, except to set up the dice rolls and card pulls to work with you or against you, depending on difficulty selected. The property exchanges are set up the same way. There's little to no imagination. It's become a mindless pastime. On my MacBook, I have the EA version, and another by someone else that uses better logic, so I know it's possible. The EA game is much faster, but if I find the other makers version for the iPad, I'm switching.
I play this game almost daily since my wreck 3 years ago left me disabled and at home. I have played 1200 games on my iPad alone, and I have a question; Don't you think it's time to stop the annoying pop-ups in the game? I understand the commercials while in the menu (although they are just as annoying), but the reminders in the game telling me what to do while in-game is beyond annoying. After the first couple hundred games, I almost quit playing. Somewhere along the line I must have learned to ignore them. It's a fun game. I would think EA could set it as an option, or just have them disappear after a few hundred games. I KNOW WHAT I NEED TO DO!!! I would have rated the game higher if it didn't have pop up reminders. A smarter game would've helped, also.
Fun but the slow pace and repetitive trade offers are annoying.
I was offered the same trade like 6 times by the computer despite consistently declining. The trade was a railroad for a red/orange property that would give the computer a monopoly. I guess that would be a great trade for the computer! I would love to turn off trading entirely or at least the computer's offers, but could not find an option for that.
Most of the trades the computer requests will give it a monopoly, so that is something I would rarely accept especially if I already had one. There needs to be more options like setting your favorite playing peice.. I have to keep setting that each time I play.
Overall it's a great game with lots of customizations, but please let me disable trading. It consumes a lot of time responding to offers I really don't want. I also think there are too many clicks to perform some actions. It would be nice if you didn't have to press the end turn button every time but I understand why. Perhaps a customizable timeout with visible countdown after which play proceeds?
