This game is better than most. The music is decent as are the graphics. This is a good game for less than $4. The hidden object portions of the game are the most challenging that you will ever find, I can guarantee that! Why? Because they label things incorrectly. For instance, at one point they call an orange road safety cone a PINE CONE!! They even call a chess piece queen a pawn! You have to be REALLY sharp to get those correct. As usual I am playing along with no idea what the plot is, the only thing you really know is that you are in an eerie building. Oh well, it helps kill time better than some of the games I have played recently! The game was somewhat short in duration, and probably more annoying is that fact that it is only part 1, it is to be continued! That is not something that I like in a game. A game should have a beginning and an end. It is okay to have different stories using the same characters though, some games by Big Fish are that way. Well, til next time....
Seriously...how many paper clips can you fit into a game?!
I love hidden object games. I don't have a problem with returning to the same scene if the objects to find are different. But what annoyed me with this game was that there were plenty of scenes but so many of the same objects over and over! An apple, a paper clip, a hat, a key ( which was used sometimes but not others), a gun, a horseshoe, a pencil, binoculars, dice, matches, etc. Even worse, I thought that maybe these objects were significant to the story in some way and that's why they kept showing up...but no! They had no special meaning. The mini games were terrible! I really enjoy piecing together images like a torn photo or letter that has to be put back together. In this game you are given one piece at a time AND the final image is silhouetted in the background!!! There is no need to think about where it goes! It's obvious by the story line that this game was aimed at adults, but what an insult for the developers to think that the average adult needs a game so dumbed down.
Haunted Hotel II: Believe the Lies
The graphics were outstanding and the music was very good. The hidden object games were good but had this one occasional disadvantage: the programmers obviously did not have English as their primary language, so some objects were mis-named, and it might take a Hint to figure out what they were supposed to be. Examples: "number pad" for calculator, "comb" for hairbrush, "pine cone" for orange construction cone. I would strongly recommend that Big Fish Games have an American carefully edit games submitted by Russian or Eastern European programmers prior to publishing the games. The story line in this game was almost nonexistent, and that is why I gave it only four stars. A minor flaw-- it seemed strange to have rotary dial telephones in scenes that were otherwise modern.
