This is pretty much exactly like the Amiga 500 version. Music, sounds, art and everything; and I love it because of that. Yeah, jousting and swordplay are pretty hard (if not impossible) because of the touch screen interface, but that's fine by me. Note: I think the animations are slightly quicker and screens go by slightly faster than they did on the Amiga, but that's alright. Maybe they can patch it someday to slow it down to match, there is a discrepancy. I needed the nostalgic trip with this, right down to the Amiga's mouse pointer, and it delivered spot on. I won't let a touch screen interface ruin my enjoyment of this classic. I load this game up for the sights and sounds any time I need a walk down memory lane.
Rushed iPad app.
When they moved this game to the Philips CDi, they made some upgrades in audio and additional graphics while keeping the game play relatively intact.
This version is the same interface as on the Amiga and it has the same drawbacks. Why not improve the jousting and raiding/rescue interface to show a power meter or include some measurable yet challenging system to position a jousting lance for a somewhat measurable chance.
More concerning, there are some bugs that result in disappearance of my vassals and knights for no reason. Very strange.
It's good that there are games we can play for relatively low cost, but this game can remain simple and true to the original graphics while making improvements to the game play. Along with some QA work.
We can do better guys.
Everyone needs to read some of the posts regarding load time
let alone the App Developer's Website.......This is a great retro
version of a great game for its time..... Pretty simple...It's a game written in the 80's with cutting edge graphics....... This is nothing more than a ported over duplicate of that very game....Lag time and all!! If you drove a replica of a 1920 Vintage Vehicle would it do 0-60 in 10 seconds....Nope!! Nice job to the developer for replicating a Cinemaware Classic without having to swap 3.5 Disks!! Would like to see a few more of their Classics reborn!!,
