The warrior Viking Ragnar hurled his sword toward the sky. It never came back down.
AWAKEN THE THUNDERSWORD ACROSS THE SKY!
Take command of this celestial blade to guide its quest for ultimate power.
• Shatter the gems to fuel your flight.
• Steer clear of exploding obstacles that try to take you down.
• Rip through space-time to awaken the Thundersword Across The Sky.
In this realm, everything explodes by the Thundersword’s blade.
• Rainbows, parrots, storm clouds and honey badgers!
• Tiki-gods, grizzly bears, scorpions and bald eagles!
• Asteroids, androids, panthers and beyond!
EASY TO PLAY, HARD TO BEAT!
• Smash into the red, orange and yellow gems to fly faster and higher.
• Weave through a gauntlet of enemies that explode on contact.
• Tilt to steer the Thundersword on your iPhone 4 or 4S.
• Guide the Thundersword on your 3GS or iPod Touch by tapping the top and bottom right of the screen.
And when the Thundersword transcends from space into time, the laws of physics break down!
HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT THUNDERSWORD?
We want to hear it. We are already at work on the next version and we would love to hear your suggestions. Shoot us a message to firstname.lastname@example.org!
We are proud to call Thundersword Across The Sky a Shiny MEDL Object. You can see all of them at www.medlmobile.com. And if you have an idea for an app that you’d like to see on the app store someday, visit www.appincubator.com.
This is a super-generic game with no cohesive design and no fun.
Using your finger or tilt, avoid everything but gems—the end. Hitting anything else slows you down and reduces your height; dip to 1 meter-per-second, and it's game over. Higher stratum are so crowded, that evading obstacles becomes a crap shoot.
Speaking of obstacles, your sword is avoiding at least three disparate bird species, tiki masks, rainbows, spacemen, and other unrelated nonsense. The music is vanilla prog rock, assumably trying to capture the Robot Unicorn Attack Metal vibe.
Worst of all, the difficulty remains static, meaning you'll only die when you choose to give up. I took my finger off at the 20 minute mark and registered a top-5 score. Awful stuff, this.
Thundersword Developer Here ...
We aren't exactly sure what we have with this game, so we are releasing it for free. We hope that users will download it and give us suggestions on where to take it. For now, enjoy the silliness that is Thundersword Across the Sky. Be sure to enable Game Center to get achievements and leaderboards (adds a lot of replay-ability). Oh and you _can_ beat the game - see if you can get the achievement for that :) ... Enjoy!
It's like someone went into my head and took out the most epic concepts and smashed it into a compact game full of win.
The gameplay is a bit repetitive, but something about it really gives me joy, perhaps the satisfaction of the explosions.
