Please note that the app requires data access and works best with GPS / location on. Also, continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Background GPS is only used when in ‘GO' navigation mode.
What's New in Version 6.17
More improvements to GO mode, guiding you step-by-step on your trip. It's smarter, now showing more details and relevant information for each of the steps. It also knows better where you are to show you the right thing at the right time, update your ETA / arrival time as you move & alert you when it's time to get off.

Fantasy app for traveling!
So after reading the reviews I downloaded the app for my recent trip to Chicago. I absolutely cannot believe how detailed the app is from telling me how far to walk from my hotel to the closest buses and where they go to and also the times and the map showing my steps and once on the bus or L train telling and showing me how close my stop is and when to get off, absolute perfection ! I never once had to hail a cab or spend extra money taking Uber or Lyft, this app was a lifesaver and I tell you I was all over Chicago and had a great time, no worries or stress about which way to go or how-to get there. Thank you for creating this app!
Battery usage has gotten worse
I love Citymapper. It can't be beat in terms of features, functionality, and design.
But the battery usage has gotten noticeably worse in the past 3-4 releases, and seems to just be from ~2-8min background usage. It's not uncommon to see it pull equivalent power to 4hrs of listening to music or 1hr of reading with the display on from just 2min of background execution. This seems more like a bug than any overall increase in power requirements; anecdotally I've seen it most when using the Go widget/extension (which has a tendency to crash).
Bowled over by this app
I downloaded this app a few months ago when I friend showed me they told you the best car to get on in the NY subway to make your exit at the next station easier. I'm new here and couldn't figure it out. Hey also have rain-safe directions, bus only and a bunch of other options. I ain't never going back to Google Maps. Thanks Dev!!!
