Original and fun, with warmth
Catball Eats It All is refreshingly different, and simple to play. Becoming proficient takes a little effort though, as is the case in most games worth playing. The atmosphere of the game is lighthearted and relaxing, for the most part, and there is a feeling of warmth and sweetness to the art style and the overall mood. It's endearing.
The music also bears special mention. Even though there are only a few songs, they really suit the mood of Catball. The title screen and in-level songs are upbeat piano based tunes that welcome you into the game world.
Then of course there is Catball, who is really adorable (if you like cars, which I do). :)
Could use some work
Overall great gameplay concept is held back by various design errors, one of which is that it only plays in one orientation, one that makes the game uncomfortable to play for headphone wearing iPod/phone 5 and iPad users. The second is that the camera spin can be really annoying as it will make reaching certain areas quite difficult, something not acceptable in a very timed game. And the third of these is the REALLY floaty control scheme, it takes ~3 jumps to change velocity by any significant measure, which makes for hard times contacting floating targets.
Great fun! Unique style
Love the style of this game. It's so wacky and eye-catching; all my friends have asked how I found out about it. The controls take a little getting used to but it's a fun challenge. Can't wait for more!
