This is coming from someone who played chronic trigger since his childhood. I beat this game countless times in the past and I have to say this version surprise me in being not as bad as other reviews have lead on to be. Sure the controls are finicky and death peak was a little troublesome but it's nothing players can't get pass and it only took me about five minutes.
I played the ps version and I consider this to be far superior since there's no lag in between battles. Of course the snes version will still be my favorite but this version holds its own. It stayed true to its original version with some adjustment to accommodate a touch screen. Overall a great buy considered the price of only 5 dollars now (I think it will go back to 10 in January 2015) and I recommend this to any one who's a fan of JRPG and a huge chrono trigger fan such as myself.
Side note: I'm playing this on a 6 plus and have no issues with crashing, bugs, etc. The game plays smoothly just as I remember from the old snes days.
Just as I remembered it.
Game it's showing its age but it's age makes it a classic. This is my all time favorite RPG and the overall story and gameplay is top notch. I'm playing it on a iPhone 6+ and I am having no problems what so ever. The only negative I've seen is it doesn't fit the entire screen cause of its format ( not sure if it fits iPhone 5 or 4 perfect but just leaves a black space on both sides but nothing to noticeable) and its a little blurry when looking at the overall map but the enhanced sharp looking menu and option screens ( stats, weapons, items, and gear) look fantastic. I havnt reached death peak yet so I will be doing a follow up. Right now I'm having a blast on all the old memories. ( lol I hope I remembered all the right things to do in the fair so I don't go to jail )
I'm glad I bought it because it was well worth it even at $10
Nincompoops leaving reviews
I waited until I got to the part that all the whiners were talking about, death peak ... I wanted to buy this game for a while, I was skeptical about doing so because of the review people left ... Let me tell you this, there is no issue on the controls what so ever - if you can't get past that part it's not the game or the controls fault you just have no control over your thumb ... I admit it took me 4-5 tries on the tree part and 2 on the icy edge one but even that is not out of the ordinary ... Thank you incompetent people for delaying me from buying this game.
