Description

System Lens is a simple way to quickly manage tasks and resource usage on your Mac.

- Easily check your system usage at a glance from the status bar.
- See which applications are heavily using resources.
- Quickly end programs you no longer want running.
- Highly customizable.

Heavy resource usage can sometimes cause your Mac to get warmer, slower and sometimes even cause your battery to drain faster.

System Lens sits quietly in your Menu Bar and periodically updates itself to display the amount of resources being used by your Mac.

Click on the Menu Bar icon to bring up the System Lens panel which sorts all of your running applications by their amount of resource usage. From here, you can decide which applications you don't need open anymore and close them right from the Menu Bar. (Just make sure you save first!)

System Lens is also feature packed: set filters, custom usage thresholds, customize your results and more!

Cool little app

This little app is cool and handy for checking out resource usage at a glance. I would however suggest for it to have an indication of when it was last updated, because I find myself wondering about that and regularly clicking it to see if it does something. It would also be nice if it would refresh when clicked, or some other manual way of doing that. Other than that, it’s pretty cool.

Tweaks needed

This app has incredible potential to be my alternative to activity monitor. However, the app is almost not usable in its current state. When the threshold is set to 0 for the low end, it reports every running process. This would be fine, except the list of apps is too long for the screen and when you scroll down to see other apps that have dipped below, the scroll wheel snaps back to the top of the list when you let go. This makes it annoying and impossible to manage any process that is below the top of the list- essentially making the app useless as a complete activity monitor.

not bad, but concerned for the future

System lens is a handy glance at CPU-eating programs, but recently I have had issues with it. I just noticed it was taking up over 1GB of my system memory, and thus ironically causing performance problems. I looked to the developer for support, but their website is a blank page and “support” just leads to a twitter feed. I am concerned about the viability of this product, and will uninstall it to prevent system issues. We will see if the developer comes back to update or better support this product.
