  • We’ve vastly improved push notifications. They can follow you around (don’t worry, they won’t bother anyone) to tell you about upcoming storms, they can tell you about rain and lightning nearby, and they can do all this while being more accurate than before, go to your settings and check them out!

  - Plan your outdoor activities around your schedule. You can now tell Smart Forecasts what times are good and bad for you!
  - Smart Forecasts also know about Air Pollution and can advise against running in the smog. At WU we like to help avoid premature death and respiratory attacks.
  - The radio tile was on its last legs. The stations were getting progressively less reliable and signal was spotty. We put the radio tile out of its misery. In your newly acquired spare time, we suggest you listen to some nice podcasts!
  - Fixed some bugs. Less crashing.

  - The widget just got let into the iOS 10 Club. It’s now dressed all fancy to fit in with the theme, it knows how to shrink and grow (and pop and lock), and while it can’t make it rain all the time, it can tell you if it’ll rain in the next 6 hours.
  - Hey, do you live somewhere besides the U.S.? Do you have a clock? Good for you. Smart Forecasts now acknowledges your supposed preference for 24-hour time. #AllTheOtherCountries
  - For anyone who added our app to their watch’s homescreen, saw a bunch of dashes, and thought we were spelling “om” in Morse code: congratulations! You’ve achieved enlightenment. For everyone else: find your own path. Now we show weather data.

  • 3D Touch all the things! Get lightning-fast previews of the map, 6-hour precipitation forecast, webcams, videos, WunderPhotos, and hurricanes, which all now respond to Peek & Pop gestures.
  • The radar widget's map looks less like something you'd find under your couch. The new map is clearer, more legible, topographically informative, and no longer looks like clip art from the '90s.
  • We fixed dewpoint. Turns out we were converting dewpoint from Fahrenheit to Celsius... to miles. To fix it, we tried multiplying the result by 35 pounds, then dividing by the number of cups of coffee I've had today. Ultimately we just took the miles conversion out.
  • As a tribute to the hardworking meteorologists who warn you when weather hits the fan, we're now citing our sources in severe weather alerts.
  • Caught some bugs. Gotta catch 'em all!

  • Apparate directly into our sister app for specialized map layers. The Storm app icons in the layers list will lead you to various magical lands, like Future Radar-opolis, Global Radar-ville, Windstream-enburg, and the Regional Map of Baron von Lightning-Strikes.
  • Let's all take a deep breath... we added some weather-related detail to the background of our icon. (slow clap)
  • Also we improved the text contrast on the map layers list. This concludes our biggest release ever.

  • Do you live in a subterranean network of tunnels and caves? Do you have a pet naked mole rat? We’ve added a black basemap just for you and your sensitive eyes.
  • Some time in the past, we broke wind. Stop blaming the dog, it was us. Now we’ve given the iPad back its wind arrow.
  • If you had bold text turned on, our app probably told you that you were going to get 10+ inches of rain per hour. We apologize to those of you who built arks. We *really* apologize to those of you who filled them with animals.
  • We fixed the echo in the video tile. Multitrack audio works well for vocalists. Not so much for meteorologists.
  • Turns out we hid the nickname button so well that no one used it. Now you can tap a location name to change it to something more meaningful. Popular nicknames include “Home”, “House”, “Home-home”, “G-ma”, and “Fred”. #creativity
  • Tinfoil hat mode, engage! Those of you who aren’t using current location can now hide it and simplify your app.

  • Tap the WU logo to find out more about our data, read the glossary, and other fun things. You totally want to know more about dewpoint.
  • Webcams are back on the map. See conditions for your commute, view Hawaii’s volcanoes, and favorite the best ones for later (webcams, not volcanoes).
  • WunderPhotos wanted to join the map party too! Go to the map to see weather photos reppin’ the town they came from. Also: squirrels are weather.
  • When playing radar, you can now tap the “Now” button to jump to now. Why didn’t we think of this before now? We blame middle management.
  • 42% fewer crashes. To properly appreciate this, imagine if your dad told that joke 42% fewer times. Better, right?
  • Optimized for iPad Pro. Our weather is bigger.
  • Fixed a monstrous device-freezing megabug that, frankly, we should never have been able to trigger. For our next trick, we will put out the sun.

  ● Down with unintentional imperialism!! No longer will the overbearing arm of Fahrenheit come crashing down on your Celsius‐specific watch complication. Power to the people who like things in multiples of ten!

  • It’s now possible to ‘View’ any location without having to ‘Add’ it, because here at Weather Underground, we support a fear of commitment.
  • Make yourself at home by favoriting and nicknaming locations.
  • Crowd Reports have been redesigned. When armageddon comes, you will be able to tell us and your neighbors that there is thunderfogundsnow (that’s German for thunder, fog, and snow), slippery roads, blackouts, a flood (with flotsam), whiteout conditions, and roads that haven’t been plowed in days. Good luck, from Weather Underground.
  • Enjoy the improved scroll performance. You may notice that we have lubricated the papyrus.
  • Previously, if you had bold text turned on, the widget wouldn’t load. Myopians rejoice! It works now. Take off your glasses and join the party.
  • We’ve added the ability to customize your watch face with our weather. Unfortunately, we were unsuccessful implanting this information in your dreams.
  • Under pressure from several Greek gods, we’ve added the ability to report thunder and fog from your Watch... woe betide the poor soul that misuses this power.
