VideoCam3D (Lite) - Record and Convert Videos into 3D Movies!
By NXP Software B.V.
Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
Create your own 3D videos – or convert your old videos to 3D right in your hand!
VideoCam3D is the only app that allows you to both make new 3D videos and turn old, 2D videos into 3D.
Simply select your movie from the CameraRoll, set the output viewing mode (for fun glasses (red/blue) or
side-by-side), then press the convert button. It's that simple!
Have fun by uploading your converted 3D movies to YouTube or Facebook. Let your friends see your
movies in 3D - they'll be amazed.
We also have iOS devices without cameras covered. You can load home movies through the standard
iTunes filesharing, and then let VideoCam3D convert those to 3D.
Lite version will allow you to try ; convert and play. Upgrade to the full version to be able to save and share the converted movies.
Demo video (you need red/blue glasses) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQhVeU-H4g8
VideoCam3D is brought to you by NXP, makers of CineXPlayer, the best way for to view, store and
manage your digital film library.
What's New in Version 1.1
Fixed A/V Synch issue on some MP4 movies
Does this app have smellovision? Because it sure stinks!
Does it work as advertised? You betcha! It takes your movie and makes a stereogram or an anaglyph. In fact, this app has everything you need to make bonafide 3D images except for letting you make actual 3D images. What does that mean? The app fakes the 3D. Horribly! It may make side by side stereograms or red&blue anaglyphs, but the 3D effect is cheaper than a $5 haircut. You'd get the same effect by taking a 2D movie then poking yourself in the eye before watching it.
To get true 3D, the app needs to let you take right and left eye movies. Or import right and left eye movies. Instead you import a 2D movie and it fudges the effect, kinda sorta.
Two stars because the images are technically 3D in that they sit behind the picture plane.
Not bad, but long way to go
It didn't work for me for a long while creating just lines across the screen, but now it fixed.
I was surprised how well it re-creates 3-D image from 2-D. With red-and-cryon glasses I can see the real 3-D.
Whoever side-by-side mode creates squished images. Never saw glasses which would fix it. Another 3-D app uses vertical images to put them side-by-side on landscape screen without squishing. May be this is what this app should do.
Going to buy full version to be able to save movie.
What's with all the negative feedback?
Seriously, for what this app is, it's not that bad. The fact that I can convert my videos to 3D is great! It hasn't crashed yet and it does it pretty quickly. It's just too bad you can't convert pictures and have more fun settings. Before you use this app, be sure to have red and cyan 3D glasses or else there is no point of using this app. Have fun!
