480 BC: Spartans

By Michele Ballard

This app is only available on the App Store for iOS devices.

Plot: The Year is 480 BC and the Persian Army has invaded Greece. You must fight back and conquer the Persian Army. While you can work your way up to 300 Spartans you must fight with great Strategy for the Glory and Honor of the Spartans and their ForeFathers!

Game Based On Battle of Thermopylae:
The Battle of Thermopylae was fought between an alliance of Greek city-states, led by King Leonidas of Sparta, and the Persian Empire of Xerxes I over the course of three days, during the second Persian invasion of Greece. It took place simultaneously with the naval battle at Artemisium, in August or September 480 BC, at the narrow coastal pass of Thermopylae ('The Hot Gates').

A Greek force of approximately 7,000 men marched north to block the pass in the summer of 480 BC. The Persian army, alleged by the ancient sources to have numbered over one million but today considered to have been much smaller (various figures are given by scholars ranging between about 100,000 and 300,000), arrived at the pass in late August or early September. Vastly outnumbered, the Greeks held off the Persians for seven days in total (including three of battle), before the rear-guard was annihilated in one of history's most famous last stands.

This is amazing but slow as ever to buy

This is the fifth year I've had this game and it is amazing. I have 4000 men and increased everything. But it automatically deleted this once and now it is still going and I started yesterday but still waiting to start. I love the game but Jesus. The only re emendation I have is if the guy has a shield in the formation that he doesn't die and he can stay still and people behind front row have stabbing spears.

A Pleasant Surprise

This truly is a pleasant surprise to the normal apps on the store. It is enjoyable, the use of sword and spear is historically accurate and seemingly endless. It provides a challenge, something uncommon in games nowadays. I was also happy to see the use of history's version of Leonidas and the Brave 300 rather than Zack Snyder's. (Although I did love the movies, history speaks to me more than film.) I am glad this game is on the App Store.

Wow!! This game is awesome, but I would like if you could include more weapons like a spear, and a battle axe. I would also like if you could add different types of enemies. And put different types of armor on your army, that would be sick!! Overall it is the best game I have ever played!!
