Long ago, a great Dragonmaster named Dyne, with the aid of his faithful companions, defended the goddess Althena from a terrible evil. Time has passed, and those great adventurers have become the stuff of legend, but the world of Lunar is now threatened by a shadowy figure known as the Magic Emperor. In a humble village, far removed from the turmoil, lives a young man named Alex. Idolizing the legendary Dyne, Alex dreams of one day becoming a renowned Dragonmaster and matching the achievements of his lifelong hero. Encouraged by his childhood friend Ramus, Alex sets out with his companion Nall and his adopted sister Luna on a seemingly trivial quest, unaware that it would prove to be the first step in an epic adventure whose outcome will determine the fate of the entire world.

Movement still needs to be worked out
Ive always loved the Lunar series so it was an easy decision to purchase this game. The game itself remains unchanged and for that alone this is a five star app, however some of the new 'features' lowered this to a 4.
I actually really enjoy the touch nature of using the interface and commands. Its much simpler to just touch the things you want to use, select, attack, etc. Sometimes this isnt so great when talking to people or opening chests, but there are other buttons for that. The point to move feature is really cool, however I wish that it wasnt so buggy at times. The character doesnt always move smartly, and if something is in his way you need to use the joystick (which moves a bit too fast for when you need finesse to avoid an enemy or smartly traverse an area). I use an iPhone to play, and while you can use an arcade style controller, this controller takes up HALF of the screen such that I can barely see what Im doing in the game anyway. If a movement pad like on the controller could be added to the sideways view without obstructing yhe view this would be a five star purchase
The Japanese voices work
Ooh do I get to say I hate Working Designs right here? OK, I hate Working Designs. I learned japanese because of this game and Working Designs. It's worth stating that the translation of this IOS port is nothing like as bawdy as WD translations, but it still comes with a little artistic license, sometimes to the point of where say, Nall might be replying in the japanese version, Luna will be replying in the translation. And different things are said. If you are able to read Japanese the simple act of setting your ios device to japanese will switch this game to the original dialog, as with many other japanese titles. The cutscenes will have to be set individually, but as of this latest update everything seems to work . 100% now. One other thing - it's far better to play this game on an iPhone than an ipad. The graphics look horrendously blocky on ipad, and using the filters looks awful too especially in landscape mode. If you have both devices, download it for your iPhone first.
Worth every cent!
Just wanna start out with the fact that this game is definetly not 100% like the original!! I've played the original sooo many times and trust me it's not EXACTLY the same so if you played the original then just keep this in mind it's NOT the same. BUT for once in all of gaming history, they didn't absolutely destroy the game by adding a few extra scenes and voice actors. To me, it actually made the experience more fun while still bringing back wonderful nostalgia feelings! Despite a few minor lags with cutscenes (nothing major that will make you want to break your tablet) I overall enjoyed this game very much and I have not once regretted spending money to buy it!! A true classic
