What's New in Version 1.1.7
Thanks for using Clear! Just two small enhancements in today’s update:
- We’ve tweaked (increased) the delay before “Click to Clear” appears.
- We’ve improved compatibility with The Future.

Not as useful as the iOS version
Clear, as an iOS app, is enjoyable to use. The primary reason is its interface, which makes all the sense in the world on a small touchscreen. It’s intuitive, and easy to use, and fast, and attractive.
As a desktop app, it makes no sense at all. The design and interaction, even though it’s visually identical to the mobile interface, seems completely arbitrary. It’s not intuitive in the slightest. I’ve been using this app for over a year and it still takes me two mistaken guesses to perform an action before I accomplish it. The main reason for using the desktop version is for syncing with the iPhone version, and syncing is slow.
That said—I do enjoy having a desktop portal to my iPhone app. If Clear had an interface more appropriate to desktop use (perhaps visually alluding to—versus recreating—the mobile version) I’d enjoy this app a lot more.
One of my ‘Elite’ apps
I heavily rely on modern technology to organize and prompt structure into my everyday. I have purchased many ‘To-Do’ and ‘Listing’ apps and have come to the conclusion that ‘Clear' is the best out there (at the present). The operation of this app is speedy, simple, and feels familiar to Apple with integrated gesture controls. It took me about 2 minutes to learn the functions and seconds to start adding items to lists. My favorite quality in ‘Clear’ is the color scheming; I can arrange my items using color gradients which very quickly help me sort ideas by importance or likeness.
Overall, this app is the best list-maker out there and the developer is quality.
It does not sync properly
I fight with this app everyday. I have four devices that I need to keep synced up and it won’t work. Everyday I go through the workaround that the author provided, and everyday, I have to do it again. It won’t sync. I contacted the author and he says that iCloud is tough to work with. So, don’t work with iCloud. I have many apps that work with Dropbox with no problems. Things went to their own server to bypass iCloud’s issues. It’s time to figure out the sync problem or move to a different platform. I love the app; I hate the the inability to sync.
