Did you ever wonder why the periodic table is shaped the way it is, what gives each element its own unique set of properties, or even how elements combine to make everyday objects such as a cup of coffee? With “NOVA Elements,” explore an interactive periodic table, play a game hosted by David Pogue, or watch the two-hour NOVA program, “Hunting the Elements.”
What's New in Version 1.3
This release contains minor content updates to reflect the current names and classifications of elements.

Makes learning fun
My son was 5 when we first watched the Elements. He was changed to a mini scientist, thanks to NOVA. He started telling everyone about electrons, atomic numbers of gold or other elements and importance of Corbin. The video triggered all kinds of activities for us. He has been checking out all sort of science books from library since then. Nova's Element is a great example of how media can be motivating and how science can be fun.
My 6 yr old and I have been going through the app this week. We both learning things and I'm amazed at how well she's grasping the concepts thanks to the way it is being taught. Wish we could re-build the elements and even visualize the electron rings since that's what helps the whole periodic table make sense. Game tat videos. It's a shame I won't be able to show them to my nephew who's outside the USA.
I am a chemistry teacher and this app is GREAT!! You can build atoms by making sure it has the correct number of protons, neutrons and electrons. You can also build molecules, you have to take into account the valence electrons and it shows single, double, and triple bonds. I highly recommend!
