Abby Sight Words with Wordaliens is a new EDUCATIONAL READING APPLICATION by 22learn. The app is designed to help children learn and practice reading the most common sight words.

Sight words are words in English language that do not have a simple one-to-one correspondence between sounds and written letters, and therefore have to be learned “by sight. ”

Being able to quickly recognize sight words is a crucial part of learning how to read. Sight words mastery is a necessary step towards an enormous reading improvement.

Sight Words offers children an easy-to-use interface and a grand choice of six fun educational games through which children can acquire mastery over this subject matter.
-----

The 6 GAMES included are:

1. WORD MACHINE
Control the Word Machine. Supply all the words that need to be produced by tapping on the words called.

2. SPELLING

Looks good but...

I look over games to decide if they are appropriate for my little one. I look to see if it will catch his interest, or just take space on my iPad. This looks like it will catch his interest. I have 2 problems with this app. 1: My son likes to push for more things, so if apps list more games to play I don't give them to him. This app shows most of the game available on the start up page(Strike1). 2: The voice of the lady who gives the instructions gives me a headache- so much so that I stopped buying Abby games. I didn't realize this was an Abby game otherwise I would have skipped it. I have nothing against the reader I just don't like headaches. The only other person that I know of who gives me a headache from talking is Denise Austin. There's something about her voice too, so I don't buy any of her exercise videos. If the Abby games give an option for different voices Maybe I would consider buying them. At least now I know not to buy 22 learn games.

Great app for helping kids read

This app is a great learning tool for kids. I got it for my niece who is in pre-k and wants to be able to read before she goes into kindergarten. She really likes the Gears game because she likes seeing them all move at the end.

Artistically the app is very similar to popular kids shows, and I think that plays a big factor in getting kids involved. It's like interacting with something they see on the TV. The colors are bright and friendly, and the voice is soothing. The narrator sounds just like my niece's pre-k teacher! Also, I really like that if the child makes a mistake points aren't taken away.

Even though she is in pre-k now, the app can grow with her as she progresses through school, and more advanced grades can be unlocked.

I highly recommend this app to help get your kids reading.

Great reading app for Pre-K to 3rd grade.

Abby Sight Words Games & Flash Cards for Reading Success is a fun reading and learning app for your little ones. With cute and entertaining graphics, and multiple player accounts so multiple children can play, this is a bargain for the price. In app purchase lets you unlock more grades and game modes. It includes a fun achievement system so you and your kids can see their progress. On the downside, some audio is difficult to understand and can be made more clear as it is an important aspect of this app. I recommend this app for your kids to try out; if they like it, purchase the in app content.
