Where are the reliable maps from the past?
Perhaps the most important feature of the National Geographic app was downloading a high resolution trail and road map of a certain park that you can later use without any network coverage, even in the shadow of a cave. The current so called map is a simple satellite view with pins dropped. You cannot even switch the view to map only, you are stuck with the satellite view. Most recommendations are annoying or irrelevant. I couldn't have imagined a harder downfall from such a respectable institution.
Bring back the maps!
Not worth the in app purchase
I bought the full park guide thinking it would unlock more info. It doesn't. It just gives you access to a few pictures. The app doesn't seem to get updated with new content either. Not worth the money at all, even if you just buy one park. The app would have a lot of potential with more offline content and more unique park information then just some pictures.
Planned ten day solo camping trip to Big Bend with this app
Best app on my ipad.
It helped me plan a ten day solo excursion camping trip for my first trip to Big Bend. It would be better if there were more pictures but what it has is amazing. I never would have known what to see without it.
