ABOUT JOHNS HOPKINS MAGAZINE
Johns Hopkins Magazine is a quarterly publication dedicated to bringing readers thoughtful and engaging stories covering science, medicine, the humanities, education, international affairs, and the fine arts, as well as the university’s alumni.
Founded by alumnus Corbin Gwaltney, who would go on to found the Chronicle of Higher Education, the magazine first landed in readers’ mailboxes in 1950. Published for the graduates, faculty, and friends of a leading university, it was conceived to give readers intellectual nourishment, and over the years has featured thought-provoking and sometimes controversial articles on topics ranging from particle physics to student unrest.
