Like it but have suggestions
I really like this game. I upgraded because I wanted to be able to play more games at a time. I have a couple complaints that are really annoying though.
1-the win/losses are listed in alphabetical order. This is dumb. I play the same person over and over, so if I want to see how many of the last few matches I have won it is a pain because they aren't in order. You have to scroll all the way down and count the wins/losses for each of you. This also makes it so I don't know when a match ended. If I missed the "game over" alert that pops up, then I have no idea who won the last one. The last game might be lumped down with all my wins at the bottom or it might be in my opponents section at the top.
2- it is annoying to have to scroll to the bottom to start new games. This should always be at the top.
... As a side note, the "start a new game" interface is slightly confusing. If you click "play now" you can't play a friend. In my opinion, that is a dumb name for that button. It should be "random opponent" or something like that.
Fix these things and add a pass and play option... Then it will be great.
Oh, as a side note... The dictionary doesn't have "Christ". Maybe it is considered a proper name, but that seemed weird to me.
Love it - but, fix it please!
I play multiple games at a time against my husband. I play on my iPhone and he plays on his iPad or iPhone. Both of us have experienced trouble with the app when it suddenly gives you a message that it cannot play a move you want in the middle of the game. From then on you are blocked from playing that game for the rest of the time.
Secondly, you will open it up one day and find that all your games are missing and you cannot start a game with a friend or play a random opponent. The only recourse is to delete the app and download it again. This we both have had to do a couple of times. It is extremely annoying, as you give up your progress in all the games you have open and you cannot play the app at all until you completely downloaded again.
Simultaneously fun and annoying
Love the game, enjoy the game play. Don't feel as though there's a need for a "draw" option ... Some boards are just more challenging and I've won a couple games I was losing just because I persevered and knew more words than my opponent, lol. But limiting the number of games to 30 is ridiculous. Especially since some opponents seem to quit when they're losing and not play back for days. I'm a voracious player and I'm finding that when I'm eager to play I frequently have to wait hours till an opponent plays back, or forfeit an abandon game and start a new one, hoping this new opponent is more engaged than the last one.
There should be a separate window showing stats and results of previous games played. All finished games should automatically default to this area.
A chat option would be nice.
In one game I accidentally played "de" because I went to look at the list of words played and had inadvertently selected those two tiles without realizing it. When I clicked in the upper right hand corner it played the word instantaneously. A confirmation of the word being played would have prevented this mistake.
Other than that it's all good. Keep up the good work :)
