Rip off with terrible customer service
I hate Lyft. The first time I used it I took it at midnight from the fidi up the FDR to York ave and 70th on a weekday. There was no traffic, the ride took 12 minutes. I agreed to a 1.25x charge and was picked up immediately. Then my driver informed me that he had accidentally cancelled my request and wanted me to rerequest. I did this multiple times but another driver in the vicinity kept accepting my request. This wasted one of my $20 ride credits. Eventually the driver told me to get out and get another driver. This time the charge was 1.5x but it was 17 degrees and midnight so I didn't complain. This ride was great but it was super fast and a straight shot 6 miles up the FDR. I got charged $45 for what ended up being "prime time" pricing (remember this was a week night and the fidi was dead= NOT prime time). I have spent far too many hours trying to discuss with Lyft but there is essentially no customer service. It is not possible to talk to a human, all you can do is submit a message and wait for a reply. They had no interest in apologizing let alone reimbursing my terribly overpriced ride. I will never use Lyft again. Plus Via is highly superior.
Difficult to use App and very unfair rating system
The app is difficult to use as a driver, The uber app is much easier, and the rating system is very unfair, some people rate drivers one star just for the fun of it, some passengers rate the driver a one star because he refused to allow an open container, etc..., if A Driver falls below a 4.6 rating; he will get fired, that is not fair at all. And riders do not understand that. I work for both uber and lyft, I wish the lyft app was as easy as the uber app, begin trip, end trip and that's it. And I also wish that the customer support were more knowledgeable and would answer like a human being instead of the Standard computer type answers. I wish they also had a way to fix these unfair bad ratings. I also wish they had a telephone number for customer support so we can talk to a real person or a c.s. Rep. and get things resolved easier and faster.
Be aware, "prime time"over (50$) ripoff!!!worst customer service ever, GET UBER
I use UBER every weekend for the exact same ride for under 20$ each way. One time a friend mentioned Lyft so I wanted to give it a try, I downloaded the app, they gave me 3x5$ credit for 3 rides, yaaaa I was so excited until I used it for the first ride and guess what!? they charged me 100% extra for what they call prime time , I know UBER some times does it but seriously 100% I ended up paying about (46$) after the 5$ credit 😣,I immediately contacted customer service " by email " twice,and their answer was to pay more attention when using the app!!! Well with all respect I do pay attention when I order my rides and actually what encouraged me even more to write this review is that I just used UBER for the same ride and guess what? It was under 17$, hands down UBER, they just get better every time!
