Greetings from the Gloop family and the Fred Rogers Center! Alien Assignment is a fun game that encourages problem solving and discovery. The Gloop family’s spaceship has crashed and they need your help to repair their spaceship! Take pictures of your world to help the spaceship computer remember how to fix the ship and fly this lovable family of aliens back to their home planet.
Follow a simple Scavenger Hunt and snap photos of everyday items using the camera on your mobile device. Listen closely as Gleep and Glop give you fun clues that will have you up on your feet and searching for that perfect item to photograph.
Then, review your photos with a grown-up to fix broken parts of the spaceship with each picture! Have fun!
Parents and caregivers: Alien Assignment provides a lot of chances for adults and children to play together. When children show-off their photos or hand the phone to their grown-ups, adults can use that moment as a chance to talk about what their children took photographs of, and why. You may be surprised by some of the creative answers!
Unique & Innovative
Alien Assignment is an innovative, award-winning app which takes your child on a scavenger hunt around your home to help the Alien family fix their spaceship. It utilizes the camera on your device in order to take a picture of an item fitting an attribute needed by the aliens. For example if the Alien's helmet is broken, you will need to take a picture of something you wear on your head. Each mission requires the child to find 4 different items based on function or attribute. What a great way to target descriptive concepts! It is also a great way to teach a child how to frame an object to take a picture. After all 4 pictures have been taken, an adult can review whether the pictures fit the descriptors. If they do, the mission is accomplished. There are no IAPs or Ads. With its unique format and imaginative storyline, I highly recommend this app.
Outstanding educational app
This app is fantastic and requires parents and kids to interact with the world around them. Kids are sent on a scavenger hunt using the camera on their device and they take pictures based on the description the alien gives them such as "take a picture of something that holds liquid". After they answer the four questions the parent must look at the pictures and decide whether or not they meet the criteria. This is a great way to encourage kids to think about objects around them. My daughter (4.5) couldn't get enough of this game. Outstanding! Would love more apps like this!
Short, but fun!
Both my 6 and 2 year olds enjoyed the app. It's a quick one, but is really straightforward and easy to get into, no matter what the age group. I love that the kids can take pictures without me having to go through and delete them afterwards. I just wish there were an option to save individual ones.
