Here's to hoping you read the rest of this...
So, this is a great concept. Vertical scroller, amassing a company of protagonists, etc. all great. The main flaw I see is there are only two ways to move the character. Tilt and d-pad.
What I was hoping to see in this game was where I could control my character with my finger. It would follow it, ya know?
Second, just now noticed this but the last 3 characters are insanely priced. I go from 9,000 to 12,000 to 15,000 to 195,000?!?!? I can't possibly pick up that many coins easily. I'm forced to buy your coins. And while that is a great marketing strategy, I wish there was a more casual gamer friendly way of doing that. Maybe increase the price of the first couple ones. Only give us the warrior and everything else is bought but at a steadier pace.
RECAP: finger/mouse movement
And a steadier pace when it comes to pricing of characters.
Name the characters and tell if they give buffs.
Aside from the grinding, it's a ton of fun.
Good, simple controls. The gameplay is a lot of fun, just the right level of difficulty, and it's oddly addicting.
The game focuses heavily on grinding though. It's very tough to get a decent amount of gold in a single run that would make you feel like you accomplished anything. Also, the "Distance Travelled" seems pretty arbitrary. I find myself barely paying attention to how far I go.
Finally, I have no idea which monsters I'm looking to kill for the quests. I don't know what a goblin defender or a dark elf is, and the game doesn't make it readily apparent. Adding a bestiary or something, showing what enemy types there are and what stats they have would be a really helpful addition and could give some extra strategy to the player as well.
Overall, great game though!
Love it! BUT.....
I have the iPad version. This is a wonderfully addictive game. It has strategic RPG elements and shooter fun. It's repetitive but never gets old.
Only one minor gripe: DEVELOPERS PLEASE FIX THE D-PAD! You seem to have spent ZERO time developing player options if they don't like tilting the screen.
The d-pad gets right in the way of your characters. And you control Left and right with the same thumb when it seems more natural to have each thumb move the party one way or the other. I'd like that, and touch anywhere else on the screen for the boost. So, how about it guys?!
