Fantasy Conflict HD is the new adventure game from creators of Modern Conflict that brings the player to the fabulous faraway Kingdom of Baldoria.
As usual, there is a petty tyrant King in a dressing gown and his No. 1 enemies are the greedy dwarfs. And there is a crystal, the most valued sovereign possession, without which the alarm clock of the King cannot ring. Add to this wooden ballistic missiles, battle airships, as well as dark and light magic as weapon and you get a fun, entertaining and exciting cocktail called Fantasy Conflict HD!
Nothing suggest the impending trouble on the clear, fresh October morning when the King Flabbian IV failed to wake up at his unusual time. Yes, the King overslept, and all because the dwarfs (who else?) have stolen the precious crystal that for many years kept the passage of time in the Kingdom. Retribution will be inescapable and the enforcement of peace lightning fast. The valiant Royal Guard is already swiftly pursuing the thieving pipsqueaks while bringing enlightened monarchy to neighboring provinces.
The brave Royal Guard of Flabbian IV, armed with the latest technological advance, lead by the most experienced military chiefs of Baldoria and, most importantly, wielding long-lost magic spells, will fight for the King until the last dwarf flees the battle field. But is this the right path for the superpower and is Odin von Sneezmark the bulwark against the national threat to Baldoria's stock of crystals? The answers to these questions await the most courageous and persistent players!

Fun, but flawed

This is a very fun and addictive game. If you like Modern Conflict, you'll find yourself right at home with this game. While it doesn't quite feel as polished as Modern Conflict, the gameplay is every bit as enjoyable. The one BIG drawback is very frequent crashes in the survival mode. Even that would be fine if the game kept track of your progress. But you can easily find yourself battling for a hour, only to have the game crash and lose all of your progress. Once that problem is fixed, it's a sold four- if not five-star game.

Was fun but improved skills turned out worthless

The game was fun but I deleted it after I kept upgrading skills and realized that the game balance became harder after you upgraded even on the most basic level (on the random maps). Reinforcements appear much more rapidly if you look like you are winning quickly, spells recharge faster for the enemy if you upgrade your own skills. While that's smart for replay ability it totally spoils it once you realize how the system cheats and basically you shouldn't spend a dime on the game as it has no impact. I really enjoyed it but that aspect killed it. As a paid app originally that shouldn't be.

Warning-5stsr ratings rigged

This is a good game, maybe in the 3-4 star range.

You really have no chance of winning without paying for multiple in game currency.

Once during an in game purchase, the app crashed - don't know yet if I was billed for that. (on original iPad, I'm sure newer ones are less likely to crash)

What is really frustrating is that the game just prompted me and said it would award me gold in exchange for a 5 star rating. I suspect the game has no way to know what I am leaving, but judging by the number of very simple 5 star reviews, I suspect most people are falling for this, which seems highly unethical.

Overall- it can be a fun game, but it looks like its going to cost on the order of $30-40 to finish it.
