10 games in one: 100 meters sprint, long jump, shot put, high jump, 400 meters run, 110 meters hurdles, discus throw, pole vault, javelin throw, and finally the exhausting 1500 meters run.
Actual world record of 9039 points is shaking at its roots.
The time has come for a competition in the premiere athletic discipline—the decathlon. After hard training only the most versatile athlete will win. Every error will be mercilessly penalized and the chance to create a new world record will vanish away in the London fog.
In each discipline you control your athlete simply with a finger, but you won’t succeed without proper timing, speed, and managing your stamina. Results achieved in individual disciplines are stored in a table and compared with the best world scores. The total score in the decathlon is calculated using a real-world formula, thus it is possible to accurately compare your score not only to the world record but also to the other athletes participating in the competition.
Enjoy a stylish design which naturally complements the great playability of original sports games. But this time you don’t have to worry about breaking your joystick. During the track events you have to move a finger with the correct frequency and not waste your stamina. When jumping, you have to attain the necessary speed and time your take-off correctly, and when throwing you won’t succeed without totally concentrating on your technique.
Only one athlete will get the gold medal for his country.

It's better than any other multi-event game out there for Track & Field. Retro graphics are cool, but there really is actually a little skill involved with some events. Each one has its quirks. Less button mashing and more focus on accurate swipes and power bar or jump/throw timing to get perfection. Swiping perfectly is hard to do and you'll need to figure out how to do better. Even if the computer shows you at max power and accuracy you'll need to get it more perfect to get your high score for each event. Long jump is more about jumping at the last second to get distance. Javelin is mostly just swiping a perfectly straight line. Those are the two hardest events for me. I love the gradual leveling up system. It takes forever to level up after level 10, but that's what keeps me going. Eventually i hope to make it to the leader boards. Be aware that some events are way better than others for leveling up a specific skill when you practice a single event.
Getting That Nostalgic Feeling
I had an Olympic game for the original nintendo ( back in the day ) and loved playing it. When I played this app, it brought back so many memories. With all the 3D game now, and more and more companies trying to jam more and more pixels into devices, sometimes nothing beats a little 8/16 bit graphics.
The graphics looks really dated, but that's what you should expect from a game that costs 0.99 and actually has the word "Retro" as part of its title. The game is fun enough, and feels better on an iPad and the controls are pretty easy. You'l find that you have to work really hard and keep playing for a long time in order to beat the records, but I guess that's the fun part of the game. This is an average game as far as playability and addictiveness goes. Worth the price.
