Doesn't really work
I thought it was going to be a great app but it doesn't really work. This is why. It's affected by background lighting to bright outside or inside or to dark causes It not to work. Also it's accuracy seems to be affected by slight movement. And it just doesn't seem to be as accurate as their other heart rate monitor called Heart Rate. In the heart rate monitor App by this company you put your finger over your camera flash and camera lens and it gives you a great very accurate reading. But not this app because it doesn't work practically and it's not that accurate when it does work. So don't waste your money. Get their heart rate app where you put your finger over your camera flash and lens. That app works great. I use it all the time and I have compared it to the heart rate monitor my Doctor issued me and it is very accurate. The only problem with their heart rate app is that you're always putting your finger print on your camera lens and so you have to remember to clean the lens before you go to take a picture with your cell phone. This app you just hold the camera lens of your cell phone up to your face and so I thought it would be so much better but it's not. It just doesn't work practically. Even when you get your face perfectly aligned in the brackets. Because you also have to get the lighting perfect. And you also have to have virtually no movement. And then I still was not getting totally accurate readings. It was consistently off 5 to 10 bpm. mike
Amazing cool, accurate, and useful.
If you're monitoring stress, health, and workouts, good to know your heart rate, right? How cool is it that you can just reach for your phone. This is the first app that's easier and faster than the old fashioned finger and wristwatch. More consistent and less finicky and even more impressive than the company's first finger flashlight product, but a little less informative because you just get the speed, not the full EKG-like graph. I'd pay $5 for this and it's only $1.
I'm a Nurse Practitioner at an urgent care center. I've been a user of the of their original app for some time. It uses the light and camera and makes sense. This app is like magic. I can't believe this works! We tested the app using an iPhone 4S against an o2 sat monitor and it was within 1 point even in dark skin people amazing.
