Very cool, worth checking out!
I graduated from college a few years ago. I still remember how awful it was to study vocabulary in 9th grade and then again for the SAT. This app lets you learn the meanings of the words instead of memorizing them. It takes a little more brain power, but it's so much more enjoyable and rewarding than flash cards. My mom, a word lover, would like this too.
Fun app for casual practice
Using this app actually makes learning words enjoyable. Conventional methods of brushing up on vocabulary are really tedious by comparison. Who needs flash cards? There is even a way to find real-world usage examples from the web so you can see the word in context. That feature is pretty sweet; you don't even have to leave the app.
Doesn't feel like studying
Putting the words together is like a game. My favorite part, though, is seeing the words in context...because the content is so good. I'm actually reading things that I'd want to read anyway, so it doesn't feel like studying. I feel like I'm retaining more vocabulary.
