Truly transcendingly beautiful RPG
Despite the fact it isn't the easiest to play on an iPhone , I am just so captivated by this RPG. Not only is it a refreshingly unique RPG and I find it deliciously addictive. The artistry and detail put into this game continues to draw me in and captivate my mind from so many angles. The graphics are gorgeous on an iPhone. But it is the Settlement building clips that make me melt. So much like the intro to Game of Thrones. The audio is incredible, quite possibly the best I have heard from a mobile app. Really sets the ambiance. And I LOVE the writing!!! Whoever wrote the prose is a master storyteller. I would love to know if they have written any novels. This game allows you to truly delve into another world with the gorgeous mix of storytelling mastery. It definitely needs more fleshing out with the game play and in town to-dos but I am crossing my fingers those will come out steadily. And I do agree with others in regards to the painfully low accuracy of strikes which makes it feel way too drawn out at times. Regardless, Thank you for respecting your players enough to put together such excellence!
Close but No Cigar
I would think that a tiled, turn based rpg clone of a classic board game would be an easy feat to master but it's just not here. I was really hoping to find this game tapping the essence of my childhood days long ago of sitting in the basement and playing Heroquest but it falls short. Graphics and basic game play mechanics are commendable but I agree with the rest of the honest reviews, random spawns and repetition are this titles worst enemies. From what I've played of the game, the whole seemed far too linear. It needs more choices, it lacks good story telling. It would be nice if it could for example allow players to explore rooms, have more than one route through a dungeon or secret passages. Perhaps descriptions like 'You can hear goblins speaking with strange tongues behind the door to your right.' Or 'There is a cold draft coming from the tunnel to your left, you wonder what danger lurks beyond.' Maybe I'm asking too much but adding a little more depth to the game would only help.
The gameplay itself was a fun dungeon crawl. The interface was easy to learn and the gameplay was smooth, however, the randomness of the gameplay makes it slow and time consuming when it doesn't have to be.
If I buff one of My champions to the point where he has 12 attacks, but only one hits (and it's like that way too often) the why even bother. It's never the other way around, it's not like you can do that and get 11 of them to hit. Don't bother putting all of that in there if it's not going to make a difference. I went back into a dungeon that was all 2hp critters and it still happened, so it's not like its a level thing.
Also, the finger of life spell might as well just be the game Giving you the finger instead for the amount it actually works.
Fix the hit tables and the random generator so that it's a little more even and you'll have one hell of a fun game here.
